Is it as simple as replacing the old ignition lock cylinder with a new one (supplied with a key incorporating a transponder) or does it some how have to be coded into the car’s management system as well in order for it to work and start the car etc? Thanks.

My friend accidentally locked (OFF) my new ignition housing (he was testing it...will that make it so I cannot connect my ignition cylinder. My understanding is that they both have to be in the ON position. Thanks in advance for your response.

I don't know if you noticed...both have to be in the on position the little tab in the back of the lock must line up with the slot in the ignition ...AND you must have the pin in there, with the tab depressed (watch the 5:00 minute mark)

Hey mate, my ignition housing seems to be jammed as it won’t let me turn the car on. I’m currently looking for a Ignition barrel housing and my cars a MK5 2004 golf, Do the ignition barrel housings from later models (2005) or other older models fit it or does it have to be the original part for the actual car and model?

I’m scrolling through the comments and have the same thing, mine is a 56 plate Mk5 so I’m assuming yours is a Mk5 as well. If so it needs to be the same but you can buy new ignition, the barrel and housing easily on the internet.

Hi everyone, i had some problem with key lock stucked as everybody here apparantly and i managed somehow (by force) to turn it and now its working, but when i take the key out radio, headlights and dashboard are still working, did anyone had similar problem?? Thank you

What do you do if the key doesn't actually turn that far ? Will that pin still pop it out??

@@KosaBrin Dude yea. How did you manage to do it ?

@@bikerboy3k Well...turns out that my mechanism was f.uped. No way I could turn the key. So I took a flex and cut out the black key part (the thing containing the key code) and got a replacement part form a dumpyard for the rest. You have to take out the part that holds your key and replace it. In my case the aluminium ring got jammed. No way I could have ever turned the key. So if you are in the same position, get yourself a replacement ignition from a fucked car of the same type, cut yours open to get the key part out and replace it with the new one. You need to have the same key and lock or else your car wont start.

I took my key cylinder out and turned the buttom piece the wrong Way with a screw driver, and now the car is in steering lock. How do i get it out of steering lock now? I cant get the cylinder back in

So I finally fixed it. You need to take whole mechanism what hold steering wheel and milion screws. Not very comfortable and easy but this is probably only possibility.

I have a problem . When you run the Golf 6 2.0 a deficit in engine rotation occurs. After removing the diesel temperature sensor the engine returns as it was meant with a good sensor switch. The problem remains only after removing the sensor wires

Also, dass mit dem Schloss rausziehen klappt ja gar nicht. Ist wie bei Türschloss wechsel. Schlüssel auf 11 Uhr drehen und dann mit dem dünnen Draht in das kleine Loch auf 11, damit es sich löst.
