After a couple of years with my GTI, I just recently realized some of the hidden features that I didn't know before, and one is related to the ESC system. Mine has already all 3 options available, as you mentioned, and also as you mentioned, ESC is meant to control the spin of the wheels so the stability of the car is improved for most situations. That being said, I felt as this function has to be on all the time, I mean why would I want to have my wheels spinning uncontrollably. But, just to test any feature this car has, I decided to try the ESC in sport mode and discovered that the car makes a lot of noise that otherwise doesn't do. So, putting the car in sport mode, changing the gears with the pedals on the steering wheel and having the ASR in sport mode, forces the car to make a lot of exhaust noise that in any other way does not. The noise from the sound aktor is different in sport mode, the turbo, has it's own noise, but what I just said, is only happening when ASR is in Sport mode and is interesting at least, if nothing more. I haven't tested yet to see if it's the same with ASR off, but I suspect the noise would be maximum in Sport mode, as it is intended to be louder. Just something I haven't seen anyone mentioning, and since I just discovered it, I though is worth sharing.

hello mr fix i really like your channel and your videos! i have a golf r mk7 it does not have a mode select option, so every time i want it to be on sport mode i have to put it on drive and push the selector back and it will be on sport mode and when i shift to N it goes back to drive. is there a way to make it so i can choose my drive mode on demand and keep it that way using obdeleven?

There's coding for that but as far as I know only one type or rain/light sensor supports this feature.

Will this allow to switch back on without having to use OBD eleven, but simply through the NAVIGATION screen?

Yup. You're just using VCDS/ODB11 to turn it on. Once it's on, it stays unless coded back.

Jeżeli chodzi o MK7, to kodowanie jest potrzebne na pewno. Do tego czasami trzeba dołożyć fragment wiązki (z kabiny do pompy hamulcowej).

@@mrfixpl akurat chodzi o superb 3 ale elektrycznie to prawie to samo... Co do przycisku to ten ma taką samą ilość kabli (te same kolory) co stary pojedynczy... Muszę sprawdzić jak to uruchomić tym bardziej że w menu ustawień mam możliwość przełączania ESC/ASR.

Sadly no. Performance monitor, CarPlay, Voice Control and few other functions are protected with SWaP Codes /FEC. You can check my video about that sepcific topic.

A6 C7 to zupełnie inna platforma i zupełnie inne kodowania. A jak przytrzymasz przycisk przez 5 sekund?

Wow wow,I have a racechip ultimate connect on my golf mk7 rline 1.4tsi,if I drive hard the epc light comes on and car shuts off power,I believe it’s because I can’t fully turn off this function,but I believe if I add this extra function, it will fully turn off the brakes from interfering with the racechip

Hi I wonder if you can help my car has this esc sport setting already visible but when I click it it brings up 2 warnings on the car screen ?.. Esc sport directional stability restricted And the second one is acc won't work is this normal ?.. or does your car do this when you select esc sport mode ?

Pretty much normal. The whole point is to have all systems on for safety when driving in automatic mode (ACC) and the stability will obviously be compromised if you decided to turn it off, or put it in Sport mode. If I have ASR in sport mode and turn on the ACC, it will turn the ESC (ASR) back on (activated).

Dokładany przycisk? Z tego co pamiętam, to tryby jazdy są zabezpieczone kodem SWaP (czymś w rodzaju licencji, którą trzeba wgrać do auta).

Nie wiem czy każde GTI miało tę opcję. Ktoś też mógł myśleć, że dołożenie przycisku + kodowanie wystarczy, nie wiedząc, że jest potrzebny kod SWaP / FEC. Czy na ekranie, po lewej u góry widzisz nazwę aktualnego trybu (np. Normal) czy nazwę ulicy na której jesteś (zakładając, że jest GPS)?

hi, does the esc sport mode match the S mode of the automatic transmission ? They are the same thing ?

No. Gearbox S reflects only in how the transmission handles gear changes. ESC sport changes how brakes module handles wheel slip.
