why is everyone complaining about the sound? who cares, VW doesnt care, it's a rally car, not a car to drive around the street and be like "yea, hear that? cool right?!" sound doesnt equal speed people, ffs it's a 2.0 liter and will be the fastest hatch and fastest 4 cylinder car stock, just wait when they release the HGP version, it will clock 800+ hp. and dont come at me with that ford focus rs bullshit, I like the RS, but this will put all the hot hatches aside and flip them off when they release the HGP version.

I’m very happy with mine mk6 gti 210Hp is fast enough for me but I’m waiting for the mk8 TCR with nearly 400Hp you don’t need anymore power is enough to get a ticket 😂

Not totally sold on it, 400hp out of a 2 litre 4pot is a lot to ask. Fuel Mileage will be poor, turbo lag will be noticeable and the exhaust note will leave alot to be desired. I think if i was the engineers behind it I would have looked into reinventing the vr6. Vr6 tsi would be damage

Not yet haha still 1 more year till I get my BEng. Anti lag is good but really wasteful and dirty can't really see any way past lag if you want big power and low displacement.except something like a twin scroll turbo. Poor mpg, because when real boost comes on the engine throws fuel at it like its going out of fashion. I bet there will not be plenty of low end torque as it defies physics for this system. the 2.0l tsi isnt twincharged like the smaller tsi engines. Exhaust note, i suppose is an opinion and not a fact, I personally don't the noise of inline 4's especially turbos, it's all exhaust

I get what you are saying but the point of using a 2.0l t is to cut down on emmisions .the old R(32) was a 3.2 l vr6.

***** ok eanugh of this shittalk .. seriously the r20 or r400 might be a perfect choice for showing how badass these guys are at downsizing. The power per liter is amazing, i mean 200 hp for 1 liter .. its more power then usual powerbike gives with 1000ccm. Oh wait, what? its more? does that mean, the engine will live as long as a bikes one? there the problems start. next thing is, you were talking about 450nm at the r400.. im just saying, but the r32 with a little gt30 turbo gives about 530nm at the same horsepower and the engine will stay alive for a long long time. i think to have the same power per liter as the r400 in a r32 you have to get about 650hp. just sayn.

The problem is that this is a golf. The people who buy a golf don't want a v6 they want small economic engine. Otherwise VW wouldn't do this. You are free to get an Audi or lambo or even veyron if you want something real.

400PS und kommt in vier Minuten keine 50 Meter von der Stelle... Die Endrohre sind nicht unbedingt schick. Außen, wie beim GTI gefällt mir besser.

+Mark G haha, you must be new to the car world, because obviously sound doesnt equal speed, I could make my 2006 normal mitsubishi lancer sound like a rawring raptor, but..... it's low hp still. btw, all golf r's are like that when you rev the engine on neutral, they only rev to max 4000 or 5000 rpm, I know that because I test drove multiple golf r's, and when ever you rev on neutral, it doesnt allow you to full rev because some people fuck their cars up with revving all the time which kills the engine at some points. plus,vw hatches are all about rally and not street, it's not that eye captive car, because it shows it's strength in the rally street.

Michael Grewe Ihr habt doch beide ein weg ... Ziehen wir doch mal die Vorteile hinaus aus einem Bmw oder Benz.. ach warte, da gibts keine! V6 V8 V10 hin oder her der so blöde oder 'arme' 4 Zylinder macht euch in allen wegen dreckig! Vielleicht nicht im EndSpeed aber wozu auch? ich denke mal 250 klamotten reichen doch aus oder etwa nicht? Ach und Verbrauchstechnisch, darüber wollen wir doch garnicht erst anfangen oder? Über das Fahrverhalten sprechen? Ach komm.. hört auf :D Ist doch jeden selbst überlassen was er fährt & wer wen auf der Straße Nass macht sieht man ja dann! Ich kann nur sagen,.. mein GTI hat schon einiges auf der Straße stehen lassen :)

Rusher96x Sorry, da muss ich widersprechen. Der Golf kackt schon bei 0 km/h ab, weil er wie die letzte Assi-Schüssel aussieht. Wie lange besagter aufgeblasener 4-Zylinder hält, steht auf einem anderen Blatt Papier, denn was die Steuerkette bei VW hält, wissen wir ja alle. Mal gucken, ob sich ein R 400 zeigen wird, der die 60.000 Kilometer auf dem Tacho hat, ohne in der Werkstatt zu landen. Letztlich bleibt der R 400 ein überteuerter Möchtegern-Golf für VW-Fanatiker und ihre feuchten Träume, der schon jetzt leistungstechnisch von jedem getunten 5er-Golf überholt wurde - und den kriegt man mit wenigen Kilometern für 15.000 Euro, da muss man nicht 50.000 Euro für nen R 400 hinlegen. Und wer so blöd ist, 50 Riesen für nen dämlichen Golf hinzulegen, der hat auch verdient, dass er damit qualmend am Straßenrand steht. Zum Verbrauch bleibt letztlich zu sagen: Der 400 PS-V8er ausm Benz zieht 13 Liter Super in der Stadt, da will ich noch mal kurz sehen, was der R 400 innerorts verbraucht. Unter 11 Liter trau ich ihm nix zu. VW sollte mal besser auf Hybriden und Elektromobile setzen, da schlagen sie den richtigen Kurs ein. Den R 400 braucht keiner. ^^ Die haben da doch so nen schönen 200 PS-Elektriker, oder so, das ist doch viel besser als son Dämlack-R 400. Kaufen tut den R 400 sowieso niemand, weil schon kaum ein R32 zu sehen ist.

Rusher96x Was regst dich denn auf? Nur weil ich ne andere Meinung hab als du? Achja? Zeig mir mal wie nen serienmäßiger GTI nen M5 E60 oder E39 abzieht.Hab ich persönlich bis jetzt noch nicht erlebt ;) Außerdem isses mir lieber wenn mein Auto 2-3 Liter mehr Verbraucht,als dass ich mit so ner Zwiebacksäge durch die Gegend eiern darf. Nun zum Thema Fahrverhalten.Du magst recht haben dass sich der neue 5er nicht gerade wie ein Sportwagen um die Kurve bewegt,aber da sollte man nun die Kirche im Dorf lassen und nicht Äpfel mit Melonen vergleichen.Du kannst mir nicht erzählen dass der Frontkratzer sich besser als nen schön Heckgetriebener 125i mit M-Paket oder 135iM fährt.Mag ja sein dass du auf langweiliges Untersteuern stehst, aber ich hab nix dagegen wenn sich mal das Heck meldet :) Du bist echt die Verkörperung des typischen GTI fahrers,der denkt er könne es mit jedem Supersportwagen aufnehmen.Mein Beileid ;)
