@@paudieb Nope, he drove 427 instead of 421, so the final range was 450 instead of 444, the base ID.3 i'm certain that it will be able to drive even longer due to the lower size rims, perhaps even 10-20km longer or more.

56MPH - that is more like I can drive, and should give a good range. Man - I *wish* I could buy an ID.3 here in the U.S. Coasting moved the car at essentially zero energy - which extends the range. Regen loses more energy than coasting, and it is not a "magic bullet". Using regen *only* when you need to slow down quickly, is much better than heating up the brakes, of course. And coasting is smoother and you can rest your right foot / leg.

@@Macmonkey1000 The Kona is indeed very efficient at low speeds. From rumours I heard, the ID3 beats it at higher speeds, but I'm curious for the video. Perhaps to the EU Council, they are the shortest route. Demand data that is important to driver and not just what car manufacturer thinks its enough. Its doesnt cost them a thing, and they are using kilometers instead of battery percentage to make it "easier" for consumer and km estimate is not a precise data, its extrapolated by battery percentage and past trip. @@garak451 And a lot of clean energy will be lost and replaced by radioactive coal (or by radioactive fossil gas, just to look a little bit greener), thanks to Angela Merkcoal. Note: before some keyboard warriors start to crank up their guns, please note that I have, just now, in my backyard (just few kms away) the Italy's inventory of used nuclear fuel and that both me and my parents are still alive and not glowing green. It's a shame that such fuel is not reused as a big punch against climate change but instead it is used just as an excuse to justify the existence and the possibility to harvest more money by the local "environmental" NGOs. Germany did not learn anything from Italy's mistake, bad luck for them too. Chris, do not believe that, just because you signed a contract, your electricity will actually come from wind and solar, it is just a syntetic count, your consumption will just be counted as part of the quota produced by wind and solar; since the vast majority of the energy hungry factories do not give a shit about the source of their electricity, this is a zero cost addition for all electricity providers. However, since electricity is neither easily transported nor easily stored (the cost of your car before incentives is a demonstration of that), the electrons that will flow on your car will actually come from that NPP, in particular if you charge during night and at least for the duration of the car leasing, then the source will sadly become coal or fossil gas. So, be happy to use for some years a clean, carbon free source, also if it is not the one you expect. I will also probably buy an ID3; in north west of Italy during night the electricity is coming from France, nuclear source of course, this is reported by electricitymap website. This is one of the reasons why I could buy an EV: my actual electricity source. Finally, there is no possibility that the south of Germany will be fully or for the most part powered by Wind and solar, too much population, too many factories and too few Wind and sun to be harvested. There is a reason why Elon went near Berlin, north of Germany has more Wind, so Tesla can green wash itself better, in Germany too.

The customer does not need to worry about the 20/80 rule as the battery is already protected by the manufacturer. The battery is larger than the quoted usable capacity. So you can never get it to a real 0%, the 0% you see will really be at least 10% remaining, same at the top end, you can never fill the battery you can only reach the 100% that VW limit the charge to.
@Gresteh
@Gresteh 3 жыл бұрын
@@idparkinson Yes and no, the car has a 6% buffer(difference between gross and net battery sizes), for the customer to not have to worry about the 20/80 rule the car should have a 40% buffer and that's a huge waste of battery capacity and weight. Customers need to be careful about battery discharge, but the 6% buffer wil prevent major damage unless you drain your battery too many times.

Wish you did a 100km/u test. This is the most common high speed (and also max speed) here in the Netherlands. In Germany it's still 130 haha.... (and they want to stop the unlimited speed autobahns right? Limit them to 130 all...) Anyway curious for your future video's on the ID3.

Yes, do the test at different speeds: 80 (most B-roads), 90 (used in France), 100 (Netherlands), 110 (used a lot in France), 120 (Belgium), 130 (France/Germany/Netherlands in some places and times). Then repeat at different times in the year at different temperatures. We also need wet/dry roads for all these combinations. Oh and wind speed needs to be registered, so we can correct for that.

Hi! Kleiner Tipp.
