Here's a nice video on how to properly do the spark plugs on the 2.0 VW engine and I believe the 1.8L as well. Without having to remove the intake manifold!

Much simpler... Thank you. My manifold doesn’t want to come off which is a hidden blessing. I truly appreciate you. I’d love to see more vids on this same vehicle. My next project is the flex pipe on the exhaust. See you again.

Outstanding! I only had to go spend a total of $25 for the socket U-Joint and the angled needle nose pliers - it all worked like a charm and I feel like a pro! Thank you so much for making this video

Awesome! Thanks for the video. It was a little tricky and that 2nd sparkplug took me about 15-20 minutes as the area is so cramped to be able to move the spark plug cover and still fit in the new spark plug, but using a long screwdriver to help position the sparkplug helped. Thanks for saving me around $100 in labor! : )

You saved me a ton of time. My swivel socket was finicky though and ended up getting runny grimy oil on the electrodes several times that I had to clean off because I missed the #2 spark plug socket several times, but this saved a bit more time than removing the manifold. Thanks!

Who lifted manifold and changed plug wires without explaining firing order and corresponding plug end positions .Misfiring codes on 2 & 3 so B4 looking at injectors I'll try the plugs! I got the gear , but have an extra package over manifold from the Bio Gas rail ;-( Gonna try it ! Wish Me luck! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

@@vicecoldyt9763 I also recommend to change ignition coil and wires as well, not just spark plugs, it's easy, and if you can do these 3 more steps your Jetta will run WAY better: 1)Change air filter 2)Clean MAF sensor 3) Clean throttle body. NOTE! There are spray cleaners separately for MAF and Throttle, do NOT mix. Hope this helps...stay breeze

@otarsulava2 жыл бұрын
@@vicecoldyt9763 good point! Well, mine was 2.0 AEG and yes, it is just a one ignition coil, square shape, that connects 4 wires, you can not see it, it's behind the secondary air pump, you need to remove it first, holding on bolts... Search also on KZbin ,,how to" for that specific part, I'm sure someone should have uploaded...✌

I need to know how to fix plug wires
@vincentmitchell42723 жыл бұрын
thank you for the video - could you please tell me the kind of spark plugs you used? i didn't see it listed below - also - other videos said not to use the dielectric grease just wondering why the discrepancy - and, if used, is it used on top where it connects with the wire? - sorry for my novice questions - will be my first plug change - 2001 VW golf 2.0
@ToastyDIY3 жыл бұрын
Anyone who says not to use dielectric grease is ignorant lol. It protects against corrosion, rust and water. It's great for electrical components. You may be thinking of antisieze? I definitely don't think it's needed, however a small amount isn't bad and may help get them out later on. I only recommend going with OEM brands such as NGK, Bosch, etc. Don't ever touch autolite lol.

I came here hoping to see how EASY you say it is when my automatic 2.0 98 jetta gl, the manifold is so much more tighter to the wire harness. Making it impossible to do the wires without taking the manifold off just for stupid wires. If you claim its so easy then why didn't you take them off in the video... Everybody says its so easy but they never do it them selves.
