Did you ever sort it? Corrado 16v same problem. I’m thinking warm up regulator. Done loads over the years and never sorted it.
@jasonshaw4957 Жыл бұрын
@@h930hec no I’ve not really looked into it, It’ll start but I have to leave it ticking over until it gets warm. If I try to give it throttle too early it stalls and won’t restart unless left for a few hours (I’m guessing it floods) …

Perfect diag! what was the name of the sensor you replaced? I cant find it anywhere - Same problem on my mk2 16v Scirocco hard to start poor idle. The blade is broken off the sensor.
@CrispysProjects Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dusty! It's one of the coolant temp sender's from memory both might be the same spec but I'll plan to look over the weekend and try to find the part number or something

Okay so i manually took 12v from fog light that enables on key ignition and put onto black wire, and rest of your video I seem to get the same except the coolant sensor i get on specs. But my ISV is still not reacting! What could be wrong? I have jumped the isv while connected and bloody hell it noticed it works then, revved like crazy
@CrispysProjects5 ай бұрын
Hi I did see you comment couple days ago, but not had time to look at the wiring diagram to check, but just realised you took 12V from fog light. If that's the 12v feed, that might be the problem, that circuit might be the 75x which looses 12v when cracking, worth a check it gets 12v ignition and cranking. Also the earth to the module is good Good luck 🤞

Hi, I just found your vid. I have a 1992 Corrado SLC with a severe fluctuating idle issue. Sometimes it will, idle fine, but most of the time it idles all over the place. Down to 900 up to 2500, down to 1500 up to 2000, then down to 1200 and so on. Also when you turn on the heat or air, the idle jumps up as well. Its at the shop now here in Chicago, and they just ordered a new (aftermarket)ISV valve. Any information or insight would be much appreciated. Thanks, Stu
@CrispysProjects Жыл бұрын
Hey Stu, cool car BTW!! Yes ask to keep the original ISV, So as a pure guess your valve might be sticking, the temp sensor as ours was/wiring to it as it keeps changing Or even possible an air leak that's randomly opening and closing changing the idle Always make sure the body earth good and rust free! Thanks for watching Chris P

I'm getting a reading of 8.1 ohms for the idle control valve, ive just fitted a new one. Is this within spec. Also when I tested the coolant temp sensor resistance I'm getting 0.89, does that sound correct? I've got a very rough lumpy idle and won't run smooth until warm
@CrispysProjects Жыл бұрын
Hi Kev, the Idle valve resistance is about right but the temp resistance sounds very low if that's ohms and not kilo ohm's, off top of head I'd expect (and might have in the video values) 9K cold and 300'ish hot If that's 0.89 K ohms /890 ohms should be a fairly warm coolant , could be the cause of cold idle issue Good luck 👍
@javierlopez042778 ай бұрын
Right now my '89 16V won't start. There's fuel and there's spark, resistance at temp sensor is 1Kohm (at 20°c room temp), ISV inner resistance is roughly 4Kohm but there's no voltage at the ISV connector. ISV is clean and works when supplied voltage. Does this point to a bad control module?
@MK2GolfStories Жыл бұрын
Hitya mate, whats the part number for those temp senders on teh engine (for the ISV)
@CrispysProjects Жыл бұрын
I'll update the description with a link to the sender on UK Ebay, but the one I used was OEM# 049 919 501 seems to cover most of the temps senders in this era! ebay.us/XMom3b is the item/ seller I got it off Thanks for watching, I'll take a look at your channel over the weekend, Do love a great mk2 👍

Im not getting power for the solid black one to the brown white, what would be my next steps now??
@CrispysProjects Жыл бұрын
Hi, I had to dig out wiring diagram and hopefully the same (as they do change stuff every so often) brown/white seems to earth on the block, and black (12v) should go to fuse 18, either one of the those isn't right, and bit more complicated to explain in text, earth missing from the engine can be common when rust in on the earth points or they've came off
@totte1015 Жыл бұрын
@@CrispysProjects Hmmm The 18 Fuse should be fine, I recently checked it And, the ground for it is located above the distributor, right? I cleaned it some months ago and should be spotless But still good that you replied, I will need to check it out closer
@CrispysProjects Жыл бұрын
Yes the ground is in that area, 10mm headed bolt, at least the video has helped get you on the right track, work out where the issue lies will be so satisfying and remember they often share feeds with something else Good luck 🤞@Oddball

I got a 90 Vw Jetta 2.0 16 valve won’t start have fuel to injector pump but no fuel to motor any tips on checking injector pump can’t find no info nowhere on it .
@CrispysProjects2 жыл бұрын
Caution checking fuel systems, but 1st if be checking fuel pumps are working likely 1 in tank and other next to rear beam mounted to body. Are they vibrating and making noise when starting? If not voltage going to the connections? if power there possibly the pump not spinning . Everything working it will feed the motor. Controlled by relay & has a fuse Info should be same as 1.8 16V Hope that helps

Why Is there a high oil pressure warning sensor .
@CrispysProjects2 жыл бұрын
On later dashes (mk3 style) has a high 0.9bar and 0.3 in different places than the mk1/2 0.3 in the oil filter housing. I've opted for the comprise of just a .7 Maybe I should of spent more time chatting!!
