My left ear is now an expert at installing an automatic hatch pop kit

Thank you so much. I just needed a tip on replacing a broken bump stop but could not figure out how to loosen the locking on the height adjustment corrugations on the new part. The 3mm Allen bolt is so deep in the assembly it was impossible to see. Like a lot of components on modern cars, they are well engineered but not always easy to understand on first viewing.

You missed one critical step in the install: you need to give the bump stops a little tug once you tighten them down to release the spring catch. The bump stops shipped with your kit are spring loaded to help give the hatch the initial kick to open. Without actually releasing the springs in the bump stop, even with them adjusted almost all the way out, my hatch didn't really open reliably. I would have rated the kit as a 2/10. Once you unlock the bump stops, it makes a HUGE difference. My hatch now opens immediately every time. 10/10. Would buy again.

I had read this yes but it's missing from the video - just done mine and pulled the spring loaded bits out sweet - now to VCDS it at my mechanics.

my trunk on my golf rattles not nasty but still a rattle that gets annoying if I put this type on would it stop the rattle??

I installed this 4 years ago . Doesn't like cold weather even with the scirocco bump stops wound out as far as possible Changed all 4 ball pins and used masses of lithium grease but still doesn't work. On the other hand in warm conditions its perfect next step is to find a specialist strut maker to increase the gas pressure Fingers crossed

Rami Radi VCDS, everybody uses VCDS.

You olso can do this with Skoda octavia Station dempers. They olso are stronger. You need only coding if you not have the option on your key.

Hi, I am in the UK and I drive a VW caddy Maxi Life and I know you don't have them over your country but my caddy has got a lift up hatch also so would this Hatch Pop Kit work on my vehicle, I am an ex Motor garage owner and are familiar with vehicles a lot and I can do this with ease, It's just getting the right shocks to suit, Can you help please, Thanks

of course you can. All this does is replace the shocks so that when using the key to unlock the hatch, the shocks have enough force to open it all the way,

Yes you just hold the hatch unlock button down for three seconds and it pops the hatch. No additional remote required. The car is not set from the factory to unlatch the hatch, just unlock it, but with an obdeleven tool ($60) you can change settings to make it do this along with many other neat features. For example you can set the car to automatically roll up or down the windows just by holding the lock or unlock button on the key fob. Search and you will find all sorts of things you can do with it.

because otherwise your key wont do anything. need to VAGCom so that your key actually pops the hatch. shocks cant open the hatch if your key wont pop it
