It definitely gets easier, I've had my set since August of 2021 and it got better after 6 months.

I installed it on my 2013 GTI MK6 (which doesn't have the spring), and did not have to code it. It works great and looks fancy.

Yo! I've had the ECS Trunk pop kit on my GTI for almost a year now. It took like 2 weeks to get used to it. It's always gonna take extra effort + dirty hands to close the hatch from now on but I like pressing a button and having it open on it's own when I need to. I've read about people only using 1 of the ECS spring struts on one side and an OEM strut on the other to make it easier to close, but strong enough to self-open. Haven't tried that yet but might be cool

I was kinda thinking the same too, but like you said it's already started getting a little easier!

How are you liking it now you’ve had it

Is there a bolt inside, that falls into the boot door when you loosen the strut ball?

Not that I noticed

Some people use one Old Strut and one new strut for a smoother opening . But I kinda use to it after a while , I don't even notice. I have had mine 3 years.

Might be a noob question but will the lift kit you bought work for a 2012 golf station wagon tdi?

Gotta question about ur mk7 taillights… how do you get both taillights even the brake light to stay on when having lights on… on my mk7 at night only my outer taillights are on

Think this will probably be my next mod, likely using a single spring if it's still stiff after a month. Great tutorial!

Hey man, love the videos! Was just wondering what taillights mod you have done? Love the way they flash when you unlock/lock the car! Keep up the awesome videos 🙂

The urban joke app will alternate your tail/brake lights when locking, unlocking and using turn signals. OBDeleven has the coding necessary

@ColoredinLight I'm overjoyed for you, really! WOWZA. It sucks. I'm not being paid to say so and no, gaslight someone else. I'm completely disappointed, and it's NOT acceptable.
