Have they discontinued the Passat and Golf wagons in NZ like they have recently here in Australia? Such a shame in the lemming-like frenzy to SUVs. As you say, these have loads of space and superior driving dynamics due to the lower centre of gravity. I have a Golf Alltrack and it has mostly the same features but actual knobs for the climate unit! And no fake exhausts, they are real ones!

Hahaha, ya, it's a shame that manufacturers are stopping to make wagons, because customers want SUVs. I don't know if they are discounting in NZ, but the entire car market is not doing that well because of the high interest rate. What's it like in AU?

@@sundaymorningdrives I just looked up the VW NZ site and they’re running out the Passat Alltrack. New car sales are booming in Australia, but the top 10 list for last year contains no actual cars, they are all utes or SUVs. The top seller was the Ford Ranger ute. This would be helped along by generous tax concessions introduced by the former government allowing tradies to write off the cost of a ute up to a certain value. Very much a status symbol for a young male nowadays. So much for thinking about fuel consumption or aggressivity towards smaller vehicles or pedestrians.

@@thecomedyspot11 That's why most manufacturers are no longer making sedans and wagons, only utes and suvs, sad...

only thing, don't buy these reflector LEDs. Go for high trim lens, reflectors have really poor lighting.

Nice car, on the top of my list for the next one on my driveway, what year is this car ? And is there still an option to have the Dynaudio sound system upgrade ?
@sundaymorningdrives Жыл бұрын
I believe this is 2022 car, and I am pretty sure an upgraded stereo system could be specified. Have you owned an VW station wagon before?
@2525Hudson16 күн бұрын
No I have not, but have always been envious of the Audi and Mercedes Benz owners who have the option of a decent system.

This engine ,2.0 TSI 4Motion, delivers 280hp, at least in Europe. Why is this one 220hp?
@sundaymorningdrives9 ай бұрын
I think different countries must have different specs. Europe usually gets the highest power outputs, you own one yourself?
@CorneliusEscipio719 ай бұрын
I wasn't aware of that. Do you have restrictions in NZ regarding engine power? I wish I'd own one but at almost $100K Kiwi Dollars over here, is way out of reach of my ailing economy
@sundaymorningdrives9 ай бұрын
@CorneliusEscipio71 nope, they don't have restriction rules here. I think brands sometimes do it to reduce emissions, or because of bad fuel quality, like China always gets the detuned version
@vladj8 ай бұрын
you can easily chip tune this 220 to 300+ bhp. This engine is from Golf GTi and easily can be tuned.
