Hi guys, i'm getting one next week. great to read your feedbacks, how did you deal with the famous oil pompe? mine will be a bmr ip 2.0 170hp

There is a 77mm hollow hex drive rod going from one of the balance shafts to the oil pump. The rod doesnt fit into the pump correctly and overtime wear down and starts to slip, so usually you can catch it in time by having an oil pressure warning at higher rpm but running okay at low rpm. The solution is to replace the faulty hex drive with an aftermarket solid 100mm drive. Costs about 10 eur for the part, and it isnt a very labour intensive job so its pretty cheap to fix considering it can ruin the engine any time. The balance shafts can fail too but thats more likely to happen when oil is changed in long-life service which is the most dumbest thing vw has ever created. Its the reason for a lot of failed engines and turbos over the years, like 1.8Ts and pd diesels because oil breaks down in about 7-8k
