Great views, I'm planning in doing quite the same route this summer. Good to see the LT managing the steep hills. Were you ever worried the car wouldnt make the hills? Question: I noticed you have something like a computer-fan in your window. Is this your only vent-fan? Is it enough? Thanks!

No the LT has a really good first gear. I've only been stuck once and that was on a step track rather than a tarmac road. It was such a great drive to do in an LT. The Forward Driver Control position is well suited for the roads and views :)

Great bit of country and you guys certainly sounded as if you were enjoying yourselves!! Only two observations. The beach to the east of Durness is Sango beach not Sago beach - that one's on a dessert (!!) island. Secondly, I presume you weren't driving in convoy all the way round the north coast. As you will have discovered, much of the road network there is single track with passing places, even on the main road. Like you, I'm a visitor there but I know that many locals, tradesmen, nurses etc, get extremely frustrated when they can't overtake a convoy of slower moving vehicles. No disrespect to our European neighbours but Italians seem to particularly enjoy convoys and the concept of "passing places" seems to be alien to them. On one occasion, the local police at Rhiconich stopped a goup and released them at five minute intervals to allow other traffic to pass more freely. Incidentally, as far as the Scottish midge is concerned, I've given up on lotions and potions, I put on a midge net and get on with things!
