Performed on a Volkswagen Passat B8 2017.
What you'll need:
OBDEleven (Buy Here: amzn.to/3ow9SH6)
VW Passat B8 with AID
Android Phone
Internet Connection
This can be done with VCDS too, but the steps may differ a little.

Hello. I would like to know if you tried to enter the Infotaintment menu to access the Android Operating System (I'm not talking about Android Auto but the Android that runs all the Infotaintment); in theory if you access the Android, you could use the USB port to install other apps, (like youtube, Videolan, skype, etc.). Does this also change the vehicle artwork that shows up? For example if I choose the Golf R clusters will I then get an image of a Golf when I open my doors on my Tiguan?

This only changes the color scheme, not the vehicle artwork. It is possible to change the vehicle variant through other settings but we've only tried from Passat Sedan to Passat Wagon. Changing from Tiguan to Golf display model hasn't been tested.

Pinnacle Productions thank you for the response. I don’t want to change the vehicle illustration image but would like to change the dials. That’s why I was curious. I’d like the Golf R style dials but with my Tiguan still as the vehicle illustrated when the doors are open or when the ignition is turned on.

Pinnacle Productions cheers for this. I’ve just been out and done it and can report the Car model illustration stays the same. However on my 2018 Tiguan R line I had 16 different Dial/cluster skin options I could choose. I went with Golf R. Lol

Can you activate the "Classic-View" (long needles) with OBDeleven in a Golf GTI?

For that, you could just switch the View mode. There's no need for any tweaks with OBDEleven.

The GTI-AID does not have the Classic-View.

In that case, you may look into tweaking the display design. Some designs have restricted View modes while others have the Classic View you're looking for.

Yes, however the design/color scheme might differ due to different software versions that is in Passat and Golf.

You need to find someone who knows to activate carplay.I have alone did it.I have paid 150€for sd karte and followd instructions for about 15 min.
