Hi there. Do you know if the new version (2015+) headlight lens is removable from the headlight? Does the lens just clip out once the unit is removed? Thanks

@@K0ALA. hello mate, the lens does come off but it involves heating up the putty around the lens and then obviously resealing afterwards

@@carlubetv thanks for the reply. Looks like abit of a tough job getting those lens’s off. I’ve had a H7 halogen burn out and melt the lamp holder, leaving smoke residue on the inside of the headlight. Very annoying

Hey man. Isn't the small lights supposed to illuminate when you turn the steering? On the pfl i have that mini bulb that does that

Yes, I think you’re right on the facelift cars, when I plugged it into my harness, obviously being a pre-facelift that bulb didn’t do anything, it’s wired up to be a DRL now, so it always on.

@@carlubetv okay so silly me only noticed now that you didn't have the upgraded pfl light on the car with the halogen bulb. On mine there's a little bulb that illuminates upon turn of the steering.

New ones look brilliant! Valeo is a decent brand, they do a much sought-after LED rear tail light for MkV R32s, and are an OEM supplier as well (I think).

Part number ? And how much for the headlights. Are they plug and play?

As an owner of a facelift GT, I can confirm the OEM build holder has both terminals at the bottom.

No probs. Do you have any bulds in mind for the main beam? I guess we wouldn't be able to use the G3/4s since the main beam has the extra connection right?

@@Pnutt0r yeh G4’s can’t fit in the main beam socket, I’m just using Philips xenon filled halogen bulbs at the moment, I’ve tried various standard h7 fitment led bulbs, they have all errored.

How easy was it to switch the bulb cradle over as just replaced my headlight and now my g4 bulb won’t fit as think it’s same as yours by looking at it

Really simple mate, just don’t lose the screws inside the headlight unit. Just need to remove the three screws, and I think relocate the terminal connectors .

Just done my headlight, I had to cut the wires on the bulb holder and re wire the old connector as the Valeo ones was completely different to vw then put old holder in like you did? Did you have this trouble with yours?

@@andygregory1579 yes buddy, that’s what I did, wasn’t too hard was it, and now you can fit your G4s and see where you’re going.

And how to connect the small one bulb at the light? I switched to but small w5w bulb doesnt light

I mentioned in the video, I ran a positive wire, from the small bulb socket to the headlight positive plug. The negative wire was already attached.

⁠@@carlubetv Nice video, just upgraded mine! For drl did you run the wire straight to the bulb? When i installed mine i noticed the connector from the harness had 1 less pins than the FL lights had, was thinking of adding a pin there to keep the whole thing more waterproof

I ran the the positive from the headlight bulb cradle and used a negative connection that was on the redundant bulb.

I’m not sure what you’re asking mate? If you mean the small light bulb under the full beam bulb? Just by plugging in the new headlight to the standard PFL harness, no, it doesn’t, but I ran a wire to it as I explained in the video to make it light up.

The line that swoops along the bottom of the headlight that isn’t on pre-facelift. I guess this is just a reflector and not an actual light?
