VW T25 T3 Vanagon 2WD to Syncro 4WD Conversion Project - Rear Hubs, Driveshafts and Brakes

Installed the rear bearing housing/hubs and driveshafts. Rear disc brakes fitted. Probably a little light on detail with regards to the rear disc brake conversion in this video, apologies. Also when building the rear braking system I changed the hydraulic pipe that runs across the rear cross member for the Syncro specific part. Can be found here: www.brickwerks...

Hi I made mine up from parts that I had and matched them to the custom bracket that came with the donor van. It all took a fair bit of work and some machining to get it right. If I were you I would buy a kit from one of the few companies that sell rear disc conversions for the T3 as these usually come with the handbrake cables too. A quick google search will lead you to them, I don't really want to advertise one over the other here ;)

About how much did this cost you?

The whole project? Around £4k (not including the cost of the donor vehicle) to get it on the road. I could have done it for less but not by much I doubt. Expensive project...
