Daring work! Every closed area without ventilation gathers rust. (= behind the side covers for instance) Every buttjoint sucks water in and starts rusting. The T3 has a lot of butt jonts, fifty feet? Somehow the VW factory did not pay attention to rust prevention on the T3. Neither in design (ventilation) nor in galvanised plate work such as on Audi and Volvo. My beloved T3 from 1980 was a rusty donation for a bottle of Jagermeister. After carefull inspection, it revealed that some internal parts were not sprayed at all (!), for instance the platework corners behind the dashboard. Strange, a Trabant , Wartburg or Lada is better! I would never buy a VW new. Your work testifies my statements. Groeten from NL , Louis.

The seams where all full of rust. The only way to get rid of the rust once and for all is to remove the panel and fit new metal. Now it looks as if rolled off the production line and guaranteed no rust in the seams. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
