I was just typing about the brake flaring tool to say get an ‘on car tool’ and you held one up saying you’d got one 😁 Anyone thinking of buying a cheap tool just get one of these instead of the other type!
@SpeedingTube4 жыл бұрын
I love the Draper on car flare tool, for DIY jobs like mine it's perfect. Ant at Autostyl let me borrow his fancy tool and it makes things perfect but it's definitely one for a workshop space environment.

I have been following you on this project, now some months later obviously, with great interest. Quite well done and I really appreciate your naming the products that you used as well as the firms that did such first rate parts fabrication. I did not understand the remark you made about not using copper line for the brakes but a better material. Would you mind telling me what that material is? Much thanks.

Thanks, it all started when I took the heavy full size rock and roll bed out for a 1/4 drag event. On the way over it felt so much better, then I added some power and it escalated a bit

Nice looking build. The CAE shifters are nice as ever, just not exactly cheap. Those flare tools are shit. The clamp portion wears out and even cranking it tight as possible doesn't always work, plus the dies that go into the end of the line to make the double flare like to break and fit rather sloppy in the line. If you're going to do more lines in the future, I'd invest in a good one. MAPP gas is what you want over the standard propane torch. It will bust those bolts free alot easier if an acetylene torch isn't available the MAPP is the next best thing. You'll probably want to swap those seats for some Recaro's, Corbeau's, etc eventually. Those aluminum seats are light but super uncomfortable. The seat risers are nice, and they look pretty good in there. Clean work so far.

With the motor tilted like that....won't you have issues with oil and pressure

Hey, the engine works fine. Just need to rotate the oil pickup to get it forward in the sump. Think of it as half a V8, ha.
