Very helpfull video precise and clear. The only smll point I would mention is the nuts on the bracket had no spring washers but the bolts to the chassis you used spring washers and loctite. After 10 years of owning my van I might get around to this job now with confidence .Thankyou.

Nice video, I've always wondered though when watching these Heater installations why you don't use the existing fuel line to the webasto engine heater? Is it because they are not usually installed in UK, or is it another reason?

The manual advises that it should not be mounted near any water sources and protect it from any splashing or road debris. We do not therefore recommend that it is suitable for installation on a vehicle that will be used for off-road water crossings.

Hi. Very useful video. You mention the plastic tray in reference to making a hole for the heater exhaust... does the plastic tray completely cover over the heater. I'm concerned for my heater getting covered in road dirt and water. Also, how much flexibility is there in where the hot air supply goes through the floor into the van? I'd like to fit my leisure battery and fuse box etc under the seat too and cant work out if the heater duct will make this impossible. If I can move where the ducting comes through the floor back a bit from where you show it, it might just all fit Thanks David

Great video, I have one question, what is the reason for taking cold air from the inside of the van, will it not be more humid that way ?
@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure of the science but I think it because once the van is up to a comfortable temp then the heater will not have to work so hard to convert 'warm' intake air into 'hot' output air. I guess it makes it more economical.

I like this setup mounted underneath the van. Saves space but for me more importantly less chances of exhaust gases inside the van. One question, is it worth insulating the heat pipe where it is below the van floor? Great video thanks
@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 5 жыл бұрын
You could insulate it but in this set-up the actual exposed length under the van is so short that negligible heat loss would occur.

Great tutorial guys.. Im 3/4's of the way through the installation now and honestly I'd be screwed without this video. I have one question about the leisure battery under the driver's seat. What type/size is it and did you need to raise the drivers seat with spacers in order for it to fit?

It will fit under a T5 driver seat fine, but only if you don't have a swivel. If you do have a swivel it will need to have raising shims (for instance, the RIB drivers swivel).

Hi, we followed your video for install in our T6 which was great and the heater is working fine. However we are unable to start the engine. We believe it's due to the fuel pump needing to be primed as there is no longer any diesel in it. In minute 5:04 in your video when we disconnected these pipes alot of diesel came out which we believe then drained the fuel pump. Do you have any advice for priming the pump without VCDS software? Thanks in advance
@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, our level of expertise doesn’t extend to engine mechanics. I’m not sure why the diesel leaked out as these connectors should have automatic cut-off valves, which seal the end of the pipes when removed. I hope you get it sorted without too much trouble

@@simongibbs8816 It seemed like an alarming amount of fuel coming out at first (hence my comment on here) but in the end I just let it drain into a tray and it stopped pretty quickly. I didn't have any engine issues as a result, however I was surprised by this, given that a significant amount of air must have entered the system, going by the amount of fuel that came out. Maybe I was just lucky! Sorry if that's a bit vague but I don't want to mislead anyone.

@kiravans5874

Yes, the under-van plastic covers all fit back in place to protect the van and the heater unit itself. You just need to cut a small hole for the exhaust to pass through.

The standpipe is too long (170mm recommended by Eberspaecher) and isn't cut at an angle, any reason for this? If the standpipe is too long it can drain the tank below the van's engine pickup, preventing you starting the van.
@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, good point. When I made this vid I just measured the depth of the tank and took a few cm of that for the pipe length. I'm happy to endorse Eberspacher's 170mm and angled end cut :)

Hi guys, just a quick question. What is the blue fuel line that comes with the kit for? Possibly a stupid question!
@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 2 жыл бұрын
The blue tubing is another length of fuel pipe. It’s not completely necessary if the customer only wants to use the clear fuel pipe, but if they do, then it goes between the fuel pump and the heater.

@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Toby, there's a piece of trim that goes back in place and completely covers the heater once it is installed. It basically protects the heater from the elements. I guess if you drove through flood water over the level of your door sills it would get wet but that is generally not recommended.

I am interested in this heater but i have 2 questions: What is happening when you travel in the mountains, lets say above 1800m of altitude. Because there is less oxygen does it affect the heater? ( i love to spend time in mountains... :) ) And when the heater in mounted outside the vehicle , does the cold affect it? I travel in cold country like finland and other so the temperature is like 0 to - 15 c°. Those two questions are the only things that keep me from buying one of those from you! :) Great product anyway! Tony.

Hi Tony, sorry for the slow reply! You have probably already solved your problem but I'll answer anyway for the benefit of others. The working temperature range of the MV Airo2 is -40 degrees C up to +20 degrees C. I can't find any info on altitude unfortunately.

Hi @kiravans I’m fitting this onto a Peugeot boxer. When you fit it under the van on a T5/6does the heater sit under the protective panels? I’m a little worried as the Peugeot doesn’t have there panels and the heater will be exposed. Do you think this will be ok?
@kiravans5874
@kiravans5874 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes the heater is protected by the plastic covers under the van on a T5/T6. I'm not familiar with the Boxer but it sounds like you may benefit from making up a simple cover to protect your heater form road debris etc. Might be possible to get a local metal worker to fold a cheap 1mm steel box, which you could screw under the van..?
