According to Holden , to remove hoses , push the hose on to the connector, depress the two plastic tags on the sides of the connector on the end of the hose and pull the connector off. No tools required.

the problem is,that there is a little 'nub' underneath the top,which holds on to the rubber ring...either file it off or have another person use a strong piece of flat wood against the top lip pushing down so it will seal and you can get the circlip on.The Original part does not have the 'nub' underneath which makes it completely flat and easier to fit.Always use Genuine Holden Parts.

Did it leak?? I have just done the exact same thing as you, used the old o ring on the new pump because the new one was too big.
