I've seen another useful tip - "clips" (e.g. bulldog paper clips) to hold a serpentine belt in place over pulleys until you get the whole lot on.

hardest part is the final level fill. You have to have the engine running and you end up burning your arm on the exhaust if not careful.

Stupid question, no gasket cement on the pan gasket? I watched your fuel injector replacement video and it helped me heaps as I did all mine this morning with no problems. thanks heaps.

interesting, i have two cars and i have done them both , and they have a 17 mm for a refill plug and they didnt have the white spacer on the filter either ??

Thanks for your comment. Yes 17mm would be easier and as far as the spacer goes it's my understanding it is a stopper for the seals.

Late reply I know but I just got a new fill level plug for my 5l40e from Holden and the new one they supplied was a 17mm head. They must have done a running change away from the Torx head.
