I listen to Mozart everyday because his music just like this incredibly beautiful Symphony is so up-lifting!

To me this symphony is one of the best of the juvenile symphonies (pre K. 173) and represents an unrecognized milestone in Mozart's development as a large-scale composer. The themes are the most memorable of any symphony up to this point, and the harmonies and ideas more adventurous and expansive. Perhaps the deployment of flutes sparked some extra lyricism in the young composer. The development sections are used not merely for bridging the sonata structure but rather for providing contrast in both thematic material and harmony. This is especially apparent in the Andante.

I don't understand the form of the fourth movement. Does it have a development section? If it doesn't follow tha sonata form, then what is the used form?

After the milanese symphonies from 1771, Mozart comes back to a more germanic influence, with that tender rêverie which only belongs to him, and powerful expressive idea, even if the composition model is still Italian : ideas are stricly separate, the 2 violins role, the very long ritournelles, the way winds come as *soloists* instead of being with strings etc.

Wow, the allegro moderato is very good! And how strange is the Menuetto.

I agree with Derek that this stands out as Mozart's early symphony. And this is my 'go to' 'version if you like your harpsichord continuo 1:11-1:13 Did Mozart actually use harpsichord continuo? anyway it gives it the 'Ancient Music' touch.

In an otherwise good recording, the horn at 3:37 is astonishingly sharp :o

At which pitch is the orchestra? Personally, I think they're near the 436 Hz mark. Or maybe 440 Hz? I don't know for sure; all I'm certain is I might have developed some slight diplacusis.

It's definitely not 440...

I dont care at all about the age of a composer. People find this incredible boaring piece great ONLY because of the film Amadeus.
