Continual Cheerfulness is a sign if wisdom. There's truth to that. The world this full of nasty things, but actually being able to generally see good in it is truly wise. This is not the same is "ignoring your problems". Happy people who ignore their problems aren't really happy, they're faking happiness as a way to avoid pain. There's a difference between being joyful and neglecting reality.
