Nicotinic acid in high doses has side effects other than flushing. Take after meals will decrease flushing. A research study shows that high doses of niacin may lead to rise in blood sugar. I take 100mg per day. My HDL goes up and TG goes down but no effects on LDL. I am cautious not to take high doses.

100mg is +600% of recommended daily dosage. How much does your HDL go up?

Nicotinic acid under 2000mg, no problem. Make sure only use immediate release version. Sustained release version can cause liver damage.

For anyone who is concerned about glucose spike, please look up this paper, "Effects of nicotinic acid on fatty acid kinetics, fuel selection, and pathways of glucose production in women" published in 2000, Wang et al. This paper showed the timing of the glucose spike which starts to rise 2 hours after taking nicotinic acid and then peaks in one hour (Fig. 4). Just start to exercise at the 2 hour mark to reduce the blood glucose. That should solve the problem. Glucose spike is only temporary.
Would you please let me know where I can get more of the corn nutrients? Thank you so much.

The corn nutrient is niacin. You can google to verify. Niacin comes in different forms as supplement. Only niacin in the form of nicotinic acid can help lower ldl, triglycerides, and raise hdl. Others do not and might hurt your liver.
