Tesla plans to launch its Robotaxi in the next five years. Come on, Tesla! China already has it, and it's way ahead of you!

Elon Musk admitted during the 2024 shareholders' meeting that in the next five years, China will lead the global automotive industry. This will result in almost 80% of the world's cars losing competitiveness and facing closure. Moreover, Tesla's existing production lines have limited capability to further reduce costs. To address China's future leadership in the global automotive industry, Musk believes that Europe and North America should implement more punitive tariffs to restrict the sales of Chinese cars in these regions, thereby protecting local car companies. The following is my personal opinion: It's really amusing that just a few years ago or even a decade ago, the world was mocking the Chinese automotive market, saying it could only operate through joint ventures, criticizing the Chinese government for not developing the domestic automotive market and using unfair trade practices. However, now those countries that once mocked China are learning from its practices and may even surpass them.
