I'm glad you said that because most of the 'ignore you until you attempt to leave', dramas' FLs were clingy and/or timid or acting timider than she really was/is, then she became the woman you described above, and sure enough, the ML is attracted to her. When FL matches SFL toe to toe, even the viewers respond more favourably to her, when previously she irritated us, then some viewers, like ML, abandoned her/the drama. We can't always blame ML's ego, sometimes it's his libido!

From the start her father was loving and slapped the wicked stepmother and ugly green tea stepsis to defend her. She was able to replace and buy her own manor staff, and was more competent than the other versions' FL. Then the ending happened... :*(
