In our final video from Adam's early-2020 visit to Wētā Workshop, Adam revisits the sculpting room to preview the in-progress sculpt of the monster from Wētā Workshop Unleashed's horror film "Fauna". Richard Taylor explains the origins and inspirations for this creature, which is now one of the many fantastical creations on display at the interactive exhibition open in Auckland, New Zealand!

I'm so curious about this exhibition but I'll clearly never be able to go to it, so I looked a little on KZbin to see if I could have more views of the finished project. I found a video of people who went to it and took photos inside (as allowed (no filming)), and look at who's there!!! :D kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJbCnZJsqr6hqs0

@@Games_and_Music What makes you think Adam is catering to anyone?
@Games_and_Music
@Games_and_Music Жыл бұрын
@@sgbench The fact that he chooses to say "craftspersonship" twice (intro and interview with Richard), adding a syllible, rather than just saying "craftsmanship". I am not saying he's catering to a specific individual, but clearly, he lives in San Francisco (which is a very Leftist/Liberal city), fantasy/sci-fi cosplayers are generally Left leaning, and he has his own moments of "wokeness", so this is just another one of those moments. (while at the same time promoting Amazon, which has always annoyed me). And i'm sure you would argue why i make a fuss about it, i don't, i am just not particularly a fan of this specific movement. Besides, i was just correcting OP on his outdated binary, patriarch-centric, usage of words ... 🙄

If you had the chance to tour with your own curated exhibit, what would be the main centrepiece? I would like to see the work others have done due to your inspiration. As a kid I was fascinated with the Storyteller by Jim Henson. My father would tell me that great stories would last forever because they get handed down generation to generation. What you do is very similar and that knowledge will get handed down long after your gone.

Gooday Mates, Weta, I think that one word nowadays explains everything. The detail, as you said you look at it then see another, another and on it goes. Fae beyond anything actually needed or even seen by J. Q. Average. Its these details that, today, astound audiences. J.Q. Average & Sons 50 years ago were stoked to get a colour photo of the family, they had zip knowledge, nor needed, about resolution. Pixels weren't even a word. To be watching movies in Q8 resolution, dang, at my age, 70. It no longer applies as im just happy to have a picture I can see and a story I can follow, but the Millenniums, well their eyes work 🙂 fine. They may not see all the details straight off, but they are the generation that look. Weta, nothing more needs saying. They are the Millennium inspiration. Keep up your inspiration mate, Peace Out. Wayne

a random joke i just made up adam... define the meaning of quantum mechanics, well lets focus on the mechanics, in the early part of the 20th century and indeed to date, mechanic was / is a variable sized man jor womn, who worn an overall from neck to ankle, usually coloured blue or grey, boots toe capped and has a spanner in his / her hand, ready for the job in hand. Now we see it in plural mode mechanics, so we have a number from 2 onwards of these mechanics to do the job at hand. Now lets look at the former, Qauntum, Quan short for quantity, so its negates quality, and tum is short for tummy so what we are lookihng at, is a group or set of variably sized mechanics of any gendar, inclusive of the lgbt+, figuring a way of filling the void in somebodys tummy, reallly it shouldd have said Quantum Cooks

Race of man? A very strange description indeed, one that seems to suggest we’re all the same gender.
@TehJumpingJawa
@TehJumpingJawa Жыл бұрын
@@ObsessiveGeek I'll assume English isn't your first language. Man/men can be genderless, used to refer to either one or all, Homo Sapiens. e.g. "Mankind", "Man's greatest achievement", "Goodwill to all men", or in relevance to this video "workmanship". It's really silly to try to de-gender an already genderless word simply because of linguistic ignorance within the woke quarters.
@ObsessiveGeek
@ObsessiveGeek Жыл бұрын
@@TehJumpingJawa You know the old phrase about assuming?...that! Man is absolutely a gendered word and always is when used for terms that supposedly describe all peoples on this planet. Just because it's the term that was coined doesn't make it a good or inclusive one. Must try harder!
@ObsessiveGeek
@ObsessiveGeek Жыл бұрын
@TehJumpingJawa Additionally before you attempt to teach language to anyone else again, you need to understand it has a very fluid nature depending on not only how you use a word, but WHEN. Take the word "Gay", although it's meaning can still be used in the manner the word was originally coined, typically what most commonly associate with the word now isn't directly connected with "happiness/carefree". Though I doubt you have a very ranged expression of fluidity given that you're the type to use woke over a simple word that is also within the English language. Words exist for people to express themselves freely, try not to place limits/barriers on language as like I say it's a very fluid thing and you should be far more open about usage of words constantly evolving to allow for even greater range of expressions that might not have been considered previously due to progression.
@TehJumpingJawa
@TehJumpingJawa Жыл бұрын
@@ObsessiveGeek If you think the English language itself is part of the patriarchy, then I simply wish luck to you. Until you get the dictionaries rewritten, you'll simply be branded ignorant for perceiving inequality where none exists.
