W166 Oil Reset. Full Service Could Not Be Carried Out

Error on oil reset.

Same problem with 2018 C43 amg. I drove it 70 miles and did the procedure again and it worked. Full service carried out.

I had the same problem; it was resolved and I was able to clear the message after I drove the car about 50 miles.

2017 GLS450. I have same problem BUT I noticed someone mention battery dying or being changed may be the cause. My battery did completely die because I had the car sitting for 6-7 months. This may be my cause. There is a scan tool reset that may help. If I end up doing it I will definitely post back. Someone else mentioned driving the car for 50+ miles then try again and it may work. I have the same problem in my 2009 mercedes c180 kompressor w204 ....and already fixed.... but you have to scan the car to erase all problems and then is able to erase the service .........it may happens when you change the battery some modules keeps the error memory and you have to erase.

I used a scan toll to reset the instrument cluster/ confirm grade oil and it auto set

Mine said the full service could not be carried out. I drove 50 miles like I’ve seen others do on message boards then tried again and it worked

I tried it every day. For some reason, I successfully reset the service reminder on my day 5. Good luck

I reset it a 6 times and it worked, let the car idle after reset, the. Turn it off and do it again.

Dam Mercedes Benze, one trouble after another. I replace the battery but still happened. I replace two windshield washer tanks still leaking. I fixed it with roof cement instead of buying another dam thing from Mercedes.

Were you able to figure it out? I saw in another video to try opening and closing the door, try the ignition button to ON again etc. Apparently it is a pain in the butt since the messages cannot be reset after you confirm. By the way which year W166 is this?

I have this same problem that can’t be resolved. I have been driving after the oil change for a week then tried again to reset, and it is still saying Full Service can not be carried out. Does anyone have any solution. Thank you in advance for kind help!

Same problem here with my 2016 C450 AMG. Went to dealer for Service A. They cleared Service A warning. Got my car back and now I get Service B exceeded by 7500 miles warning. Tried to clear it myself but got the "Full service cannot be carried out" message. Seems like there isn't a solution for this.

@@drakehunt8521 Good question. It seemed to have resolved on its own. I don't remember why. Maybe it just needed to be driven more and accumulate more miles.

I checked the maintenance display in the settings menu. The time and distance did get reset. I don’t know why full service is not carried out still.

After Oil change at 40K servcie I followed same procedure to remove the service sign but instead I got Service Could Not Be Carried out. I droe for 50-75 miles and tried again and luckily I could able to confrim my service completed message. I think you need to drive for few miles after the service in order to confrim the service sign.

It actually reset the mileage for the next oil change. I think you’re supposed to do service 2 and the other ones in the list

on my w166 The time and distance did get reset. I think this is why it said full service cannot be carried out as it may have worked the first time. I am hoping anyway. some one must know
