Good job on the painting work, while learning as you go. I worked in an auto body Paintshop when I was much younger. So...much...sanding.

I'm not sure the amount of times I said "sanding" was enough to really cover how much sanding there was..... Like you said, so....much....sanding! 😂

Really enjoyed this series. Hopefully she passes the MOT. I'm sure after all the the work you have put in she will. What will be your next project?

Coming up in a few days is (probably) the last video on the Mercedes. I don't want to give too much away, but there have been occasional glimpses of the next project in the background of this video series.

Very nice job! I plan on doing the roof and boot on my w203 myself. How many cans of base and clear coat did you need for the hood/bonnet? Subscribed.
@ProjectCarHaven9 ай бұрын
I think it was about 1 can of each for the bonnet. I used 1 can of primer, 2 cans of base coat, and 2 cans of clear. But that was for the bonnet, front bumper, top sides of the guards/wings/fenders, and both mirror shells. I'd budget for 2 cans of each to cover the roof and boot. (Maybe 3 if you're a bit heavy handed or want more coverage)

Nice job, but you should have checked out how easy the mirror covers come off. Could have saved half a day.

Great point! I didn't even think to look that up. I just went for it.

@ProjectCarHaven I have a 2006 and the bumper is full of stone chips. I checked it out and the front bumper also comes of rea easy.

@@ferdluzzi3385 this is true. Wait for the next episode, where I show how easy it is to take the front bumper off. I'm not looking to do a in depth/full restoration on this Merc though. Masking and painting in place is good enough for what I'm looking to achieve with this car. it's my first Mercedes, and I'm always looking to learn.
