The w211 trans has a feature I always use where you can change gear by lever moving sideways. I grew up driving manual cars and don't always like using the paddles. I think all the later mercedes lost that feature?

Not sure about calipers, but rotors should be the same. They are the same part number from MB and Brembo. But I am not 100% sure.

My 212 e63 amg s is rear wheel drive woohoo 😂 it's slow af compared to awd ones I swapped my w211 for it. The w211 e63 was a special car , really lovely My 212 drinks oil, I need to top it up every 5k miles

I sold my w212 E550 (bi-turbo motor) for w211 AMG :-) Honestly I wish we had RWD w212 with m157 in the States. AWD is fast but not as tail happy.

@AccentOnCars thank you, I swapped that one a long time ago for a w211 e63, such a nice car. At that point I had a c63s estate also but with lockdowns and uncertainty I got rid of the C, eventually I swapped the 211 for a e63s w212 which I've had 2 and a half years. Recently bought a 645ci convertible as a commuter car which has a few problems but is a good car for cruising

I have the w212 6.2. And honestly it's suits the 7+ MCT gear box perfectly. I could see in your video where the 5.5 TT only revs to 6.200 rpm it kind of gets confused as to change up a gear or hold onto the lower gear it's in as it hits it limiter. That would piss me off especially coming from the m156 higher revving engine or 7.200 rpm. Plus I'm not sure I'd the 5.5 TT you were driving hd the 9 speed box or the 7 speed. Once you have got used to that 6.2 N/A engine it's unreal the pulling power it has. The 5.5 TT would frustrate me I could Tel buy your video. Ive had the 5.4 M113k in the w211 as as good am engine that is with the supercharger shove in the back. For me the M156 is an amazing high revving forgivable engine. There is power available at any rev range. Fair enough the newer 5.5tt is more powerful and more tuneable but once you have experienced the M156 its hard to change and it's an engine like I said that never feels like it's not ready to go again and again and again. Another thing the M113k stuffers is heat soak. That engine like a cool down when you keep pulling hard runs. The 156 will pull and pull and pull until the cows come home. Brutal engine. One of the all time greats. Nice video BTW👍. The exhaust note of the 156 is more raw if that makes sense and not as fake as the 157.

I love this comment. I certainly agree. I wish I could get a newer E-class with m156. One day it will be hard to let go my w211 e63. I will probably skip m157 and get a car with m177. A sweet alternative would be w204 black series or smth with m159 in it - but those are collectibles nowadays. BTW, hit that Like button to help spread the video.

The reason I didn’t drive the w211 is because I have many videos of me driving w211 on this channel. It would have been repetitive for returning viewers.
