Thanks for the info on re-set service. I have a question on my CLS-55 when I enter the car there is a loud buzz & it asks don't forget key This buzz really hurts my hearing aid..badly!! Is there a fix to defeat this buzz?? it is VERY ANNOYING !

Lol yea it is loud. Unfortunately the buzz is integrated into the back of the cluster. So unfortunately not.

Check engine light needs to be read with an OBD2 scanner. If it says “service engine soon” that also needs an obd2 scanner to read the codes. Key needs to be in the on position in order to read the codes. Plastic covers aren’t always replaceable on headlights. You would have to pull the headlights off the car in order to check to see if they can be replaced. Keyless go can be a variety of problems from a bad key fob to a bad key fob battery to a bad module inside the car. Bluetooth issues can be a bad command unit (the radio) As you have noticed these cars don’t age well when it comes to electronics. I sold my car a few years ago after owning it for 8 years. Electronic issues just kept popping up left and right.

Mr Masalli Mrs Masalan I am unsure if we get speedtronic here in the states. My car does not have it and I don’t think I have driven a Mercedes with speedtronic. I could be wrong. However you best path to fixing the problem would be to have a shop scan the car for any faults as there are a couple things that contribute to the proper function of speedtronic. It’s too hard to make an educated guess with this type of fault. If I had to take a guess I would say either a wheel speed sensor is faulty or the steering angle sensor is faulty. Is your brake light on or abs light on? One would hope that the module itself isn’t bad. Again sorry I don’t have more information on this as I have not dealt with this issue first hand. Cheers.

If you have a cluster like this one, you should be able to cycle through the menus and get to the settings screen I believe and then using the other set of buttons cycle through until it says oil level. It very well not be possible if service F is showing given you have the instructions right there in the manual.

Christofer Delgado I can try and do so. That isn’t something very common that I have to replace. If you do jack up your car. You can see the alternator from under the car (remove plastic splash shields) the regulator is held on by a 13mm bolt and also a 15mm but along with two Phillips screws if I recall. You will want to disconnect the positive terminals on the BOTH batteries before attempting this job. Again, I will try and see if I can get a video on this.

I am having battery issues and got stranded today i was getting the red screen saying "low battery/alternator stop car" and then car went limp/driving slow after driving a bit my oil levels kept going up so i stopped and it wouldn't turn back on so i had it towed, after checking the black back piece looks like its disconnected and not making contact with the alternator(looks like the voltage regulator pieces blew off and dislodged it, after seeing a normal alternator). Should i just replace the whole thing?

Christofer Delgado well it would be best to pull it off and inspect it. You can test alternator output if you can get the car running again and you have a multi meter (DVOM) with the car running you should see 14-14.5 volts at idle.

Andre Scott You need to bring the car into the dealership or some independent shop that has access to a “Star” scanner that is specific to Mercedes software. Someone may have tried to reset the service before with a universal scanner and messed something up or the cluster may have been changed before your ownership. Or there could be something malfunctioning with the cluster itself.

Bigg Cash you can reset your AC by pushing the off button four times in a row. And you can reactivate it by pushing the off button four more times. I just had to learn this a coupe of days ago. It worked for my 2016 cls550

2006 Mercedes CLS 500 something keeps draining the battery every night . Not sure what it could be I just purchased the car from a dishonest seller. Previous recent invoice shows it’s NOT either of the batteries front or back and alternator is fine. Is there a common battery drain issue with these cars ?

Not that I’m aware of. If it has an aftermarket radio or amps and speakers, I’d start there.

Unfortunately there isn’t a fast way to see which circuit is giving you trouble. You can manually go through the circuits one by one to see which is drawing too many amps.

When you open the hood and your looking at the engine, there should be a reservoir on the left side with a blue cap on it. That will be what you need to fill up.

Try this: 1. Turn the key to the 2nd position (just before cranking the engine) 2. Hold down the recirculating AND defrost button for 10 seconds and the lights on them should start flashing. 3. Let go of the buttons and WAIT 45-60 seconds until the lights stop flashing. 4. Turn the key back to the off position. Pull the key out. 5. Wait 60 seconds minimum. Then start the car.

You may need to bring it to the dealer OR an independent European car shop to have them reset it. I would say to do it yourself but you’ll likely need the Mercedes STAR scan tool system to be able to do everything.

The 2011 is a different body style. It may not work for that particular model. If it says assist plus or something like that in the menu, you will be able to find it in the menu on the cluster.

Well my car is a 2016 CLS 550 and it says it is a W219 in my VIN number and by the dealer. The dealer is very happy to charge me to reset my B1 service reminder if I let them charge me to do the work. Which I have already had done else where. I will keep looking until I find the correct video to figure it out. I would be happy to share my vin and info from my Mercedes app to prove there is a 2016 W219 CLS 550.
