What size is that reel you're holding in this video? Looking for the perfect match to my H2 Covert 5wt. Also, considering the Colorado LT, but am worried about backing capacity. Any thoughts? Comments? etc.

This was a 5/6. If it's for your 5wt then I would say that the backing capacity isn't an issue. I highly doubt you will ever see your backing let alone till the end of it. Both reels are awesome! On my 3wt and 5wt I use the Colorado LT and on my 6wt and 8wt I use the Evolution R. You really can't go wrong with either. Personally I like the Click N Pawl which is why I prefer the Colorado. Although if you're looking for a sealed drag then Evolution is your best bet.

I wouldn't even waste my time with Taylor. Sage is ok but their reels are no where as good as their rods. Lamson is a great reel but not my cup of tea. If you're looking for a reel I would look no further than Ross, Abel, Hatch, Galvin, Nautilus

Upgraded from the Ross Fly Rise (lol) to the evolution R in silver. Should be here this coming week. Which color do you like best? Matte black or silver?

Ryan Reno - Personally I like the silver. Although I must say I prefer the Black for photography and filming reasons. It’s hard to get the fish in the shot with the reel without having either the fish or reel over exposed.

Nice ken hope to see the upgrades on the water too. Love your new fishing outfit behind you. but isn't it a little heavy to wear in the water. LMAO!!!!! Also I see my favorite picture is back on the wall of the lady by the stream. Now for the reel. I was never a big one for Ross reels, because I had Abels and Hardy reels. from .5 Able to tarpon size and the same with Hardy reels. In fact my last tarpon was on a Hardy reel. But I wanted something with a little nostalgia for my bamboo rods I'm making now. So I looked and saw that there were some Gunnison limited edition fly reels that they brought back. So I got one of the G1's and G2's. Fished them with my bamboo rods in North Georgia last fall and was totally sold on them. They are a great reel and are not pushing the high price these other reels are trying to make you pay. They are old school with updated drags, but I love them and they sound outrageous on a 24" rainbow. Again I'm so happy to see you are going big time. you are very profession and enjoyable to watch. keep it up. Mike

Haha... told ya that pic was coming! Yeah, Ross is a fantastic reel. Which is why I went with all Ross. I have to believe in products that I endorse and it's easy for me to tell people to purchase Ross because I love their reels. You should hear the Colorado LT! Man it sounds fantastic!

Owned two of these. Both drags failed, water got into my drag. Had same problem with my Ross F1

I had one get water into the drag. They don't like changing temps and pressure. It happened after I traveled with them which is known to mess reels up to be fair. Did you send them in? They will fix them both. [e-mail]

I have not done a review on that reel. I do own several of them and can say that it's one of my favorite click n pawl reels. If you have any specific questions please let me know. I would be happy to answer any of them.

I have a 5 weight right now for trout and can't decide weather to go with the Colorado Lt or the Evolution LTX. The main question is do I need the drag with the evolution Ltx or will the colarado lt work.

I find that you hardly ever need drag for trout. Sure maybe on the Henry’s Fork or in Iceland. Although I have also caught fish in both locations with the LT as well. I personally like the LT or any click n pawl because it’s more manual. Just use your hand to slow the reel down. You feel more in control. I also like the sound of the LT. Nothing like the sound of a CnP buzzing from a ripping line. I also like the look of the LT over the LTX. Which brings me to the conclusion. Looks better, sounds better and feels better. Winner LT.

@@Wish4Fish Just my opinion, each reel is often different in the way the spool is removed. If someone has one of those reels and doesn't know how to remove the spool, that's where Ken T steps in and gives a clinic.
