Woah - thanks for taking the time to review this! As you point out later in the video, it is definitely preferable to keep the outer-most metal ring because it both has tighter tolerances for adhesion as well as allows the modification to be reversible, punching it and the bronze bushing out somewhat easily (though of the thousands sold, none have needed it as I'm aware). There is an oversized bronze bushing that I provide to folks who have removed (by accident or necessity) the outer-most metal ring and want that tighter fit - simply post a comment on the site or in the purchase notes and I will substitute it for the standard one.

Do you still sell these?

Fun fact: your selector arm socket had a layer of plastic inside the inner-most metal ring from the factory as well - you'll only find it on low-mile examples often. (Oh fun fact 2: every single one of these is still hand-made, packed, and posted by BillyM too...) Cheers! --billyM

how do you install the shifter linkage? do i need to take off the gearbox housing?

Yes the tail shaft of the trans needs to be removed in order to remove the shifter arm in this video. You can actually install this shifter bushing in car without removing anything.
