My grandma raised me. I was pregnant with my daughter when she was dying. GMA had a bad bacterial infection that was really contagious. So I wasn't allowed in her room with her. So I would sit in the hallway and look at her through this little window in the door. I slept on the hallway with my boots as a pillow. My daughter is 20 years old now. This song always reminds me of that time.

That is the question But I forget you don't expect an easy answer When something like a soul becomes initialized And folded up like paper dolls and little notes You can't expect a bit of hope So while you're outside looking in Describing what you see Remember what you're staring at is me 'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed All I know is that it feels like forever And no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head How much is real? So much to question An epidemic of the mannequins Contaminating everything We thought came from the heart It never did right from the start Just listen to the noises (Null and void instead of voices) Before you tell yourself It's just a different scene Remember it's just different from what you've seen I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed And all I know is that it feels like forever And no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head 'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed All I know is that it feels like forever And no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head And it's the stars The stars That shine for you And it's the stars The stars That lie to you, yeah-ah [x2 - on the album version] I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed Oh, god it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head 'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass Don't know how much time has passed All I know is that it feels like forever But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head And it's the stars The stars That shine for you, yeah-ah And it's the stars The stars That lie to you, yeah-ah And it's the stars The stars That shine for you, yeah-ah And it's the stars The stars That lie to you, yeah-ah, yeah Oh when the stars Oh oh when the stars that lie

Jim's playing in this is so damn elegant. if you pay close attention he complements corey at all of the breaks, and even though he's playing lead, he plays in a supporting role literally creating the melody for corey to follow... allow through HARMONICS almost exclusively. Thats an overlooked and under-appreciated talent in this performance.

Not gonna lie. My one wish before I transcend into the shadow realm is for Corey Taylor to sing me to sleep as he is sending his angelic voice that's like buttery chocolate to our ears over the airwaves. And as I'm about to fall asleep, he kisses me on the forehead & or cheek & puts my blanket over me & stares at me for the next 3 hours. As he is grinning in a both wholesome yet frightening manner. And awakes me with a nonagram drawn on the floor with a sheeps head lying in the middle & candles lit up in the form of the Mc Donalds symbol. As he wears his Iowa mask & dances to the theme song of Thomas the Tank Engine. And later we go on tour together & party hard. By going to the park & feeding the ducks while we enjoy a gluten free vegan lactose free soy milkshake together & just breathe in the good life. And go on a boat trip far out in the sea as he is massaging my back & puts sun screen lotion on my fanny. And as I rip a hole into the ozon layer, we both giggle like teenage girls together. I know this sounds oddly specific but let a man dream god damn it. lol XD

Beautiful, especially the other two guitarists. Such minimalist parts, just appropriate. Sounds incredible :'D

that "cough" (0:33) sounds to me like a relief , more than clearing his thought. I do that noise whenever I'm emotional and talking at the same time, and the he does it again later in the song. I hope Corey reads this shit 1 day and prove me right, lol

and also to ask what is the actual line: "stars", "star cows", "stars counting us", "star call us" or smth else. he's singing it a little bit differently every time. i'm tired of guessing.
