Thanks for the birthday wishes! Felt good to get the hands wet and get on some fish again… if they could have fully participated the whole day instead of giving us little teasers here and there. Good enough start for me for this season.. we will get back out after this cold snap leaves us!

Ryan! I'm glad to see you made it out. The ice thickened up a lot since we were out. This crazy cold front is really gonna help the ice. I bought a few of those floaters after you suggested them last year, I hadn't had luck on them, but maybe I'm too close to the bottom. Lol, at last year's rod, hah. My kids do that to ours, lol. Daisy is sure cute and seems well behaved. How do you like the Jaw Jacker auto jigger?

It sure felt great to be back out there! This cold snap will be the ticket for us to be able to drive out there soon and not have our stuff taken on us! Daisy is a great dog! Saint Bernard / Akita mix dog! I love the idea behind the jigging jaw jacker but personally have not had much overall success with it! Need to get out more and test it on some other pike / walleye lakes!

Do you know about the legs on the jigging Jaw jacker base? Catch any big walleye in Wab off camera?

Yes I know about the legs on the jaw jacker.. sometime I forget to put them out. We see BIG walleyes on our cameras but have a harder time enticing the big ones to bite! This year has been such a lite bite out at Wabamun - I have been out for the past 2 days and have had my tip ups go off 20+ times and no fish to be had.. been a tough go out there this year!

@@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Definitely! It gets fished hard with it being conveniently close to Edmonton. We ran into a Seba Beach local driving around on the ice and he said he had since a HUGE INCREASE in the amount of ice fishermen in recent years! I just got back from Wabamun an hour ago myself - just unpacking the vehicle at the moment!
