I know this video specifically is a few months old but I come back and rewatch this series every few months because I love it so much and I've just never thought to comment and say, I love how respectful you guys are with not only the materials you have readily available, but also that you're not afraid of using stain. I feel like most people would paint everything or not know how to refinish their floors. You guys take the proper steps to really make everything sparkle and shine and are willing to put the work in for a beautiful product.

soaking the knobs and hinges overnight in vinegar and baking soda would have really cut through the grime. am glad to finally see another video!!!

Pick one or the other.... either the acid in the vinegar or the abrasive in the basic baking soda. Otherwise it's just rendering the other inert.

If you look closely, the window above the sink is only half sized -- it doesn't go all the way up. My guess is this piece was put in there to disguise that. Also, at the time this style of cabinet was fashionable, most people put a florescent strip light up there, so this piece is meant to hide that and help concentrate the light down to the sink.

I love you guys for saving the cabinets. My mother in law had the exact same style and when she renoed her kitchen she threw them out with the trash. Absolutely nothing wrong with them they just weren’t the style she liked. Thank you for showing others that they can be updated with just some elbow grease and paint.

One of the things we found which i thought was hilarious was 7 layers of drywall with no insulation..?? Old houses are crazy ahha So cool to see another young couple living the reno life!!
