Can anyone tell me the exact height of the bbq when folded up for storage, with the lid under the bbq
@WACampingAdventures11 ай бұрын
Gday chris! I believe with lid folded underneath it would be 290mm. Hope this helps mate!
@richo2501 Жыл бұрын
The one thing you mentioned with the pots not fitting next to the lid, don't forget you can swing the lid of the ziggy all the way under the grill if you have the grease trap at the bottom, fully screwed in. That way it doesn't foul on the top of the pot and you just need to find a pot of the right diameter. Well, I'm pretty sure you can do that, I think it will work. Cheers

Awesome honest review, the lis folding away is an absolute deal maker, all accessories should be included.

Great vids by you and Cam, love the frying pan hack and already a done deed. Now for the bacon and egg issue. Get a second half plate, take out the cast iron open grill and replace with the two half plates flat side up. Eggs one side, bacon the other, no rings required as now flat and no run off. (assuming you have the Ziggy level 😉). I have a Weber as well but only use at home, Ziggy is more versatile. Cheers

great video! i have had a ziggy for 5 years and cannot fault it. only con i have is the legs of it feel flimsy and no matter how tight you make it it moves a bit. i think it needs another bolt on each side of the legs to make it more rigid.

We got a BabyQ because when we bought it there wasn't much else on the market as far as I can remember. Looks like the Ziggy is a bit more versatile and to be honest, I can't work out how we would get the BabyQ in the 4x4. We only use it in the Coaster where we have a ton of carrying space. I like the Weber and we manage to do ordinary BBQ meals, roasts and pizza but looking at the Ziggy, if I ever had to change for some reason, it looks like that would be a better alternative.
@WACampingAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely mark someone mentioned above that it comes down to planning, no use taking it for an overnighter but if you have the room, ie coaster, then throw it in lol
@michaelhermans47532 жыл бұрын
I opted for a voyager as it is very compact with folding legs That said it’s rubbish quality The baby Q is quality but takes up far too much room The Ziggy certainly looks compact Dash 4x4 did a hack cutting the Ziggy legs down to fit in his caravan tunnel locker Will definitely look into the Ziggy Thanks Pete

Good review. I've had one for about 5 years now and found the trivet set useless as well - also needs planning if you want to use the grill as well. Neat little hack with the roast set, I'm gonna have a play with mine but I went the webber roast set 🙁. For me the size is the biggest downer. Mine is mainly relegated to beach days or where we will be in one spot for a week to smash out roasts and pizzas!

G'day champ I got the twin burner ziggy and the flat plate you have on yours is designed for a twin buyer lol. I need to get one for it I also have a trivet and found it to work great for mine. I take one grill plate off and the trivet gets its own burner. Down side to mine is the lid doesn't fold under like yours. Great review though love the hack cam came up with.

We had a Weber family q and after years of slow roasting bacon and eggs (seriously it took over an hour), sold it and got a Ziggy. Certainly different units and I don’t know if our Weber had a fault which caused ultra low cooking temperatures but it just didn’t work for us. Our last trips we have gone for the little Dune glass topped fry pan simply due to the small amount of space it occupies along with a campfire + camp oven. No fires will result in the Zigg coming with us again.
@WACampingAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Swompa those glass lid frypans are really really underrated i believe. Almost no need for a portable ziggy or weber i reckon
@nuggets.6774 Жыл бұрын
Hi there. I've had a Baby Q for years and it cooks bacon and eggs super quick. Your problem may have been a dodgy regulator? My sister bought a larger Weber Q and despite only using it a few times, it never heated up properly. I used my hose and regulator on it and hey presto - it now works fine.
@deancooper6742 жыл бұрын
thats exactly Why we bought a ziggy.... so it would fit in our tunnel boot in the caravan ..... the webers are too high ... :)

Whats the gas consumption like. Obviously u use that ziggy alot, how much gas did u use on ur 10 day trip, as lugging the ziggy and a gas bottle large enough is a huge con. Interested to know what the efficiency is like.
@WACampingAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Damn krump so glad you brought that up. Again my Pea brain misses alot. The gas consumption is unreal, found out at the last minute that for the ten day trip that i only had a third of a 4.0kg bottle. But lasted three cooks and also a roast and still did not run out yet.
