Awesome! Amorphis is amazing, I have been listening to them from the 90's i.e., 'Tales from a Thousand Lakes' to 'The Bee'. They are one of the greatest Finnish metal bands ever of all time! Tomi Jousten is without question one of the coolest metal vocalists EVER of all time.

unfortunately, the first album i ever heard from Amorphis was AM Universum which was not really good and didn't represent at all what amorphis is. Worst than that, it took me almost 2 decades to listen to amorphis again and it was from a random spotify playlist. this song played and i was like, THAT'S AMORPHIS??? OMG! this is one of the best song i ever heard! so many wasted years for me... but i'm here now!

Don't feel bad. They were my favorite band for a while, and I loved their first three albums, but lost interest after that. It felt like they lost a lot of energy after Elegy, and I didn't care much for their singer at that time. I just happened to notice many years later they were still making albums just after Skyforger came out and happened to listen to the first song and was blown away by how much energy they had and how good they sound now. The best part is that they just keep getting better. I thought it would be hard to top the energy of Under the Red Cloud, but then Queen of Time came out and turned it up to 11. I can't wait to hear what their next album sounds like! I also find it funny how both Amorphis and Nightwish, both Finnish bands, have had three singers and I like both bands' third singers the best...

Unfortunately, they're one of those bands that is well known/influential within the subgenre, but they really aren't a big picture name, so they either headline 300 seat club tours or they play early slots at festivals which include more mainstream subgenres for headlining. Within MDM, only a couple of the poppier bands can/could actually draw - AA, IF, AE, Bodom, etc. Even top-top tier bands like Insomnium and DT are stuck in Amorphis's position.
