Maindeck anger of the opponents
@Vesdus6 жыл бұрын
Modern players have no business being upset about Blood Moon. They're rarely playing anything unique. They're playing goodstuff.dek with greedy manabases and they deserve to be punished for playing 3+ colours without basics.
@Proof_6 жыл бұрын
I only play unique decks with a bunch of utility lands and usually 3 colors, but no goodstuff and nothing broken. That's why I hate Blood Moon. Despite that, I don't want it to be banned because it has to be in the format to counter greedy manabases and, even more, Tron.

I really like your videos. One thing that i think any "look at this interesting deck"-video needs is a sort of conclusion at the end where you say what you did and didn't like about the deck and how it could be inproved or why its unplayable poop. Cheers
@LegenVD6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I test out the decks before recording the videos, so I will already have made the adjustments I deem necessary. It's a little results oriented to then make any sort of conclusion based on a handful of matches. If the deck was truly unplayable it would never have made it into a video to begin with.
@AndimatterUniverse6 жыл бұрын
Thats good to know. It really hurts me to sometimes see a video of an interesting brew only fall flat because it didnt have enough thought put into it. Glad you do it your way.

Best Bloodbraid Elf deck I think I've ever seen. Such a good target for cascade. More relevant than pretty much anything on turn 4.

Red white land destruction is pretty good too. You can run boom/bust with flagstones to blow up lands on turn 2 and fetch a foundry. As well as worldqueller naming land and ajani vengeant and wildfire. With crucible of world
@LegenVD6 жыл бұрын
Boom/Bust is sweet, too bad they changed the rules on split cards, otherwise it would've made for a fun BBE deck.

I know it's less spikey, but I'm sad that Stormbreath Dragon takes the slot Ember Swallower fits in the land destruction deck as the ideal monstrous creature just because it's so much value. If not in a land destruction deck, then where?
@LegenVD6 жыл бұрын
Ember Swallower is certainly more on-theme, but I don't think the powerlevel is high enough for Modern.
@DeeJy336 жыл бұрын
1) a 4 drop that does nothing when it hits the board is incredibly bad in modern. 2) you don't want to destroy your own lands 3) stormbreath is an evasive hasty threat that dodges Path to Exile which is great for the deck because Inferno Titan is really only going to die to Path. Having a threat with flying is important against midrange. Honestly, it's an atrociously terrible card in modern. There's always something better to chose.
@saschabieri62816 жыл бұрын
They are all there. All the cool cards from the last few mtg games. Acid, inferno, arbor, tracker, and I think the the hasti elv was also in magic 2014, pretty cool deck. Do you see a way to include charmbreaker devils and pelakka wurm? I know it doesnt realy match. But I love those cards.
@LegenVD6 жыл бұрын
The bar is very high for 6+ cmc cards in Modern, so those cards aren't really going to cut it unless you're cheating them into play (and even then there are usually better options).

@qwormuli776 жыл бұрын
Why does it matter? I think i'm missing an obvious line here... Edit: I absolutely did. I somehow kept brainfarting, that bloodmoon would make the other lands basic _islands_ either way. I'm retarded sometimes.

@spinutto6 жыл бұрын
One of the all-time annoying archetypes. Well done, let's see how well it works!
@qwormuli776 жыл бұрын
Honestly, most modern LD is pretty fair and gradual, with lots of ways to go around it for it to be too annoying. What i consider to be truly annoying are the decks that just prevent you from doing anything without actually trying to do anything beside hinder you, because they know that you are just sitting there ie. lantern or control with a single dingy win-con. Also stupid decks with a strict requirement for very specific counter cards, like ad nauseam and living end, or tron to a lesser extent. LD are just 3 mana sorceries and the like, nothing i'd really complain about.
@spinutto6 жыл бұрын
I think Tron isn't that annoying, but it is very synergistic, with little counters once it gets going. One of the most infuriating to play against LVD arealy did a video with the deck, flooding the board with 0 cost artifacts, sacking them with krark-clan ironworks, the faith' reward, then a gigantic grapeshot. this deck gets going at turn 2. But yea, LD pales in comparison with lantern control
@qwormuli776 жыл бұрын
I personally hate tron with a passion. I too agree, that it's not as bad as some of the really cut-throat decks, but the whole inevitable three land countdown, that somehow *always* works through anything with natural draws is infuriating. You just can't play any even remotely fun deck with it around, unless you go full on aggro(which i do too much for my own good now-a-days). You don't play a deck, but play against tron; you have to devote your sideboard for tron and friends and play with it as your deck, as they are so far removed from the actual game itself. Also, i don't play control because i can't stand the mirror match-ups and the staring competitions. Comparatively, i love midrangey decks with control spells or the like, as they keep you on your toes while playing against you, but aren't autistically sitting in their own corner while reminding you to ask permission to scratch your own ass.
@spinutto6 жыл бұрын
Well, I think more people should tech in more nonbasic lands hate, then you wouldn't have to counter specifically Tron lands. Get more field of ruin, more blood moons, more fulminator mages. I think people get too greedy with their Maindecks and Sideboards, and end up getting stomped by turn 3 because they wont put the more 'exotic' techs.
@qwormuli776 жыл бұрын
I like to run fairly close to the earth decks with often green. This stems especially from the fact that i don't personally like too greedy decks, that buckle to a single blood moon or recall. You don't run aggressive decks with fields of ruins/tectonic edges/ghost quarters, you need to hit your colours and have a semblance of tempo. And they are dead cards for me outside of specifically tron. Could you have some cards to help me face it, without them absolutely obliterating my chances of finding two colours t2 without mulling to four, that could fit into a more aggressive deck(cards that could have at least some pressure on their own, or 1/2 cmc). Ones that are not just black/red, expensive as fuck modern staples? Or should i just drop 700+ euros for a combo deck, or bumrush aggro/burn?

Not a fan of how this deck ruins the game more than mill. Fun to watch though. Sigh... land destruction should be a little harder to be so consistent. These un-bans made no sense besides being about money.
@bonebips6 жыл бұрын
x1PMac1x there’s ways to counter everything in this deck, along with mill. Wouldn’t say it ruins the game since it’s a mechanic in the game.

WHY DOES EVERYONE CALL THIS DECK LAND DESTRUCTION???????
@scottb2356 жыл бұрын
Maybe a play off of the more common "hand disruption," or that destroying lands is a key objective of this deck giving it an edge? What do you think the deck should be called :D
@1261JAHO6 жыл бұрын
Dark Link Ponza, what the archetype is ACTUALLY called. ;D
@LegenVD6 жыл бұрын
Ponza is not very descriptive for newer players.
@DoubleBob6 жыл бұрын
1261JAHO, I don't know, man. Ponza was red aggro with 4 land destruction cards. Calling a red green ramp with eleven land destruction cards and some other land disruption card "Ponza" is kinda strange. A bit like calling "sushi" a "salad"... technically not too wrong, but doesn't feel right.
@robotetanus6 жыл бұрын
"Land Destruction" decks have been around since the early 90's when I started playing. I'll be damned if I'm going to call this deck anything else.
