im gonna head on down to the coffee store and take my entire setup instead of just an ipad

Lmfaooo same, I feel like getting an iPad might be a good idea. So far I just take my MacBook Air and intuos everywhere. It works just fine but it does feel like I’m taking up allot of space when outdoors.

Looks like a decent drawing experience, I've tried drawing on my Galaxy tab s8+, but something just feels off... I also rely heavily on Adobe products, so it makes sense to buy this for those tasks. Thanks for showing us this ❤

Hi, excellent video, how about a biggener animator? Recommend an iPad, wacom tablet?
@EricDoggett23 күн бұрын
Thank you! Hard to say - I have no experience in animation so I can't really offer any advice other than to try both. There are a bunch of reasons that you would pick one or the other. Give them both a shot!

Do you by any chance work with Toom Boom Harmony? I'm an animator and I was wondering if it felt comfortable working with it 🤔 Thank you so much for your review!

If I'm willing to leave a laptop open, can I use the Movink w/ out the laptop being plugged in?

@@jktolford8272 good question - didn’t test that! I would think you could. If not, you definitely could with that Amphetamine app.

I have a question if you do not mind. I have a Cintiq 13HD and was thinking of upgrading to this new Movink. Do you think it is worth it? Is the new one much better? Thank you
@EricDoggettАй бұрын
I haven't used a 13hd before, but looking at the specs, you are only really gaining the lighter weight, and having just one cable. But you are losing all of the physical express keys. So it just depends on what you are after. It might be better to upgrade to a 4k screen. But if your budget is around that $700 mark and that's it, then it would be a nicer, lighter version of what you have. Hope that helps!

Personally think the hd13 is better apart from the connection wires, But if your not moving around this is basically irrelevant. So long you keep creating beautiful things that’s all really that matters. ❤.

As a long term wacom user, I struggle with drawing on the ipad, i have the paper like on my ipad but something doesn’t feel right. I keep going back to my intuos for doing any real work. I think the problem is the Apple pencil. It just doesnt feel right. The nib specially is too thick and doesnt resemble any traditional medium. Intuos comes with a variety of interchangeable felt-like nibs, which feel much more natural and you can customize which one to use as per your need. TLDR : Apple pencil sucks big time.
@EricDoggettАй бұрын
I would tend to agree. Even with a paperwhite protector I still end up liking the wacom surface more. Also, I tend to like bigger surfaces anyways, and as large as the newest iPad is, it's still smaller compared to other tablet displays for the Mac.
@0xded53c6Ай бұрын
Try Nano Texture.
@slurp319424 күн бұрын
Apple pencil is the biggest down side for apple. S pen is far better in my opinion the nib is smaller and pen is lighter. It just feels better the nib is rubbery but its better than apple pencil and i think u can get different nibs too
@xrplaygroundАй бұрын
Great video. How would you compare it to iPad pro connected to your mac and sidecar? It will give you 4K resolution, no latency( over cable) and everything else apart from buttons on the pen! That’s why I’ve returned my Movink
@EricDoggettАй бұрын
Good questions! I should probably do a test/comparison with that. In the past, I haven't liked it because it required the Apple Pencil (vs a Wacom pen). If I am using express keys/menus, that wouldn't be supported. Plus, the iPad (as thin as it is) is still heavy compared to this. But it's a point worthy of looking into more.
@EricDoggettАй бұрын
oh and thank you for watching! :)
@xrplaygroundАй бұрын
@@EricDoggett All fair points. You would still need an iPad and Apple pencil ( Apple Pencil Pro even as you would need the hover effect). It's heavier. but when disconnected, you have a powerful device. Would like to learn from your perspective.
@xrplaygroundАй бұрын
@@EricDoggett Also you compared the Movink with your Cintiq Pro, not Cintiq, although the non pro Cintiq would be a closer product to camper with. :)

@@xrplayground yea it probably would. It's what I had around. If Wacom wants to send me one I'd be happy to compare :)

It's hard to tell for sure, but how does the brightness of each one compare? The Movink is listed as 350 nits vs the 300 nits of the Cintiq Pro, but is it noticeable?
@EricDoggettАй бұрын
@@briantium I don’t have them both in front of me, but if that’s what the specs say, I would probably agree. Nothing too noticeable though. I was more focused on the 4k vs hd difference and how incredibly light and thin it was.
@karimroshdy6432Ай бұрын
Is the resolution a barrier cuz I find hd with oled weird
@EricDoggettАй бұрын
I wouldn't say it's a barrier, if you know what you are getting. If you need to see all the controls/menus/buttons/etc while drawing, then it might not be the best option. If you just want something super light weight to draw on, and it's not about having every menu option visible at all times, it might be all you need.
@briantiumАй бұрын
I just got the Movink and do not find HD on 13.3" to be an issue, which I wasn't expecting because I would normally prefer at least 2.5K; maybe the fact that it's OLED mitigates it, but when do you do the math, the pixels per inch on that 13.3" screen (166ppi) is basically the same as a 4K screen at 27" (163ppi).

Sir. =) Wacom products needs other products to be used most optimal. You need their MSP, You need a Tablet holder, you can attach their trackpad for your dominant hand, rotate, tilt, map it as horizontal or portrait mode, have a tablet holder for the moveink for the non dominant hand, to the side of the computer, attached to the stand of the computer. along with remote in horizontal mode, with ring towards left as expresskeys on the computer.
@EricDoggett10 күн бұрын
I had their MSP way back when!

Had the 16'', now the 13'' 2nd gen. I'd use the Moveink as a display for the 28 onscreen shortcut panels, one A-Z for each application, activated with 3 finger tap on computer display in said "Application", those panels combined with the Expresskeys on trackpad/computer as Ctrl, Shift, Alt, Tab, Windows key, all of the A-Z, or other keyboard keys on such panels, can give lots of alternative combination, 3 rows for what each key can do in each application,program,software. Having the PowerToys tool with Fanzy Zones, Always of Top, Text Extractor, Mouse jump, Crop&Lock,PowerToysRun, MouseHighligter, and own panel for them can give other dimensions to the using a computer. In my humble opinion.
