Heard this song on WHO Des Moines Iowa in July of 1966. I was 11 then but it was music like this that got me wanting to be a musician. 3 years later, I became one and started playing in local bars with an older man I knew who served as my chaperone. While the other kids I knew detassled corn for $1.25 an hour, I was making $50-$100 a weekend. When school was out, I spent my summers playing music over the road. I did this for the next 4 years til I graduated with honors in 1973. After high school, I started touring full time with various warm up bands. I never hit the big time but I was always working and getting a pretty good wage for my efforts. All that changed when I started drinking heavily though, and by 1976, I was nearly a full blown alcoholic. Took me 18 months to get clean and sober and I've stayed that way since then. I retired for good in 1990 after 21 years in the business. I'm 68 now and still play every once in a while. People tell me that after 30 odd years of retirement, I can still hold my own with modern musicians today. And to all those who said that, I thank you. Not bad for a fat old blind man.

Lloyd was the only one credited on the LD albums. Featured steel guitarist. One of the best.

This is one of those project songs to figure out. Surprisingly difficult to play for such recognizable melodies.
