Thanks Mick. Great vid. Always wondered which retrieve you preferred for whiting. The splash prawns will pretty much do anything you ask so good to narrow that down.

Terry Hitzke cheers, yeah it pretty easy to cover a lot of ground this way.

@@MMDfishing Do you use a similar retrieve for trevally at night in the river and canals or speed it up a bit?
@MMDfishing4 жыл бұрын
Terry Hitzke if they’re are on top ripping through bait I’ll go pretty quick. If it’s just one or 2 busting every now and then I’ll offer fish a bit slower. Big pops with a bit of a pause.

Hey Mick, Great vid, I liked you thoughts on assist hooks vs no assist. What are your thoughts on leader, mono or fluro? And what strength?
@MMDfishing4 жыл бұрын
loganm79 thanks mate, I usually just run about half a metre of 12lb fluro in case I hook a flathead or a good Trev. I only use a short leader so I don’t have to cast a knot plus a short fluro leader wont sink the lure as much. If I’m chasing little jacks I’ll go to 20lb mono leader so it floats.

I’m looking for a good baitcaster setup do u have any suggestions I just thought because ur a really good fisho I’d ask
@MMDfishing4 жыл бұрын
Haha average is a better assessment. I don’t use baitcasters much mate so wouldn’t be able to give you any good advice unfortunately.

nice video mate! answered all my questions i had about using these lures. WHat weight rod do you recommend for this style of fishing?
@MMDfishing4 жыл бұрын
Trent Chew thanks mate. I’m using a 1-3kg rod at the moment. Doesn’t cast as far as my old 2-4kg but it’s a lot more fun when you catch a fish!

@@MMDfishing im actually tossing up between 1-3 or 2-4. Think most people are pushing me towards the 1-3
@MMDfishing4 жыл бұрын
Trent Chew both good. Just need to pick a couple up in the shop and see what you like the feel of. I like at least 7foot and fast action. I’m using a zodius but I’ve got a few zings that I like and are a lot cheaper. Everyone has there own opinions.

Great Video. Any suggestions for this type of fishing In Sydney?
@MMDfishing4 жыл бұрын
John Patane not familiar with the area but just jump on google earth and look for shallow creeks and sand flats with a bit of weed. Just had a quick look myself, around Maianbar looks good. Would have to be bream and whiting around those flats I would think.

MMD Fishing Thanks. I just placed an order for these lures to try them out
