Dennis White my first NuggetNoggin video was the one where he found all the knives in the river. I was hooked from the first “waaayooww”... being from Texas, his accent is similar to some of the old timers from my youth. He definitely makes each find interesting.

Pretty fun and relaxing hobby as you've already found out. Digging all the trash can get old, but then again it helps keep things clean. I recently bought a Radio Flyer all terrain wooden kids wagon to haul my gear around hunting sights. Love it! Daughter thinks I'm a nut! LOL Hope the new year brings you prosperity, and good health. Happy Hunting from Fountain Hills Arizona!

The 8-track was a rare find. I've watched so many metal detecting videos from different people-and that is the first 8-track I've seen anyone find! Then the next hunt, you find a blank cassette tape. So many people now likely never heard of an 8 -track, and never held a cassette tape. There were a few 8-tracks in my house as a little girl in the late '70s-mainly Xmas, like Bing Crosby. Then, of course, during my teens yrs in the '80s, cassettes were in every day use. I filled so many blank tapes w/ songs off the radio.

Had a similar knife for awhile in the 1990s. Might have been meant for cutting apples and such. Maybe a fisherman was using it to cut line or gut small catch.

Neither, it's a Tunicate larva
@businessweasel94256 жыл бұрын
Cardboard Box, timothy Roosa, it is neither, though the video is somewhat poor quality, if you slow it down and pause it, you notice a distinct lack of segmented legs on either end of the body. As for the possibility of a tunicate or a tunicate larvae, while possible, there is no evidence of tunicates in the area from the video. It is most likely species of Lumbriculidae, a predatory genus of leech.

The 'tape' you found is known as an '8 track' tape cassette. Prior to regular cassette tapes. From the '70's. It would play 8 tracks or songs. Had 4 reels inside it. Each reel pkayed 2 songs or 2 tracks, then a big noise Baaaahhh, duuung, & next reel would play. No one wanted to be riding in a car with a radio.... we wanted to ride with the guy who had an 8-track player, listening to Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Mott the Hoople, T-Rex, Frank Zappa & Jethro Tull! Great Find!

That tape looks like a 4-track cartridge as opposed to an 8-track tape. It looks a bit thicker and the underside has an opening unlike an 8 track. I first thought it was broken but a closer look looks like some of the opening was part of its design. I saw a similar one of these around 1968 and I believe it precedes 8-track. In the U.K. they also had a 4-track cartridge that played on a Muntz player.
