This is a WONDERFUL tutorial of the game. Thank you very much for doing this. I am fortunate enough to live in California, near San Francisco. The designer, Joe Fatula also lives here. I just got back from a game convention over Labor Day weekend, and they are there every year selling the game and all expansions. In fact, they just released the newest expansion, Stations, that adds a ton more goodness. I wish I could help you get the game at a reasonable price where you live. Outer Planets is fabulous, and Stations appears to be equally cool.

So I just picked up this game today (with all expansions), and watching this video makes me feel like I can jump right into it, it's all very clear and nowhere near as complicated as the reviewers made it seem to be! I'll still read the instructions, of course, but this video makes me very confident about being able to play it and enjoy it. Thank you!

Thanks for the great video ! I am in the middle of my first solo game right now and I wonder about exploration. When you reveal a tile like the moon, does the hazard (spacecraft destroyed by dust storm) stays active for the rest of the game ? So I cannot land on the moon a working probe to fulfill the lunar lander mission ?

Quick question: You say that the Eagle and Probe immediately die when entering a cloud at 18:34, but is that really true for the probe? The Eagle says "Cloud: Burn Up" on the bottom of the card, but the Probe doesn't have that. Just want to make sure I'm not cheating! Otherwise, awesome video! Woops, you are completely right! Just checked the rules, only capsules without heatshields are affected. All other components are unaffected by atmosphere. I'll annotate the video! Thanks!

Oh ok, cool! I just wanted to make sure cause I was playing that probes do not burn up, but hearing you say that made me question myself, haha. By the way, do you have any plans to make a video for Outer Planets? I'm trying to learn how to play it now, and I could use a video to help me understand how to properly do slingshots and explorable missions, haha.

Well, if you buy it directly from the Lumenaris website, it looks like they ship to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Span or the UK. Granted I have no idea how expensive that would be (or if you even live in any of those countries... if not, this isn't helpful at all!). Hopefully you are able to get a copy someday!

I actually have one more question... let's say you're playing a multiplayer game and one of the missions is to survey the moon. Let's say you are the first to get a probe to Lunar Flyby and survey the moon. Now, do you need to reveal the back of the moon card to all the other players in order to claim the Lunar Survey objective card? Or do you still complete the mission even if you don't reveal the card?

Just checked, and I think the answer for this is on page 12 of the rulebook: Survey missions are completed by the space agency that first reveals an unexplored location to all the other players. This can be done by traveling to that location, or it can be done from a distance with the Surveying advancement. So it seems that revealing the location is the trigger to finish the mission. :) Cheers and happy playing!
