@steve--There is NEVER a "Totally Unprovoked Attack" on cops. Bad cops get Good cops(and citizens) hurt. And when the "good" cops stand around, do nothing, or hide details, they are Also Bad cops. Cops have become Corrupt for the same reason that "soft on crime" creates more criminals. The Gov't enables Bad Behavior! Don't stop at Unions & Q.I., ELIMINATE Professional Courtesy("we'll give him a Warning for 100mph speed, & a ride home instead of a DUI"), Internal Affairs("We investigated ourselves, and found No wrongdoing"), the Legal Ability to LIE, the Thin Blue Line Gang mentality(not turning in Bad cops), Civil Asset Forfeiture if No crime has been committed("our dept. gets most of the money!"), giving Promotions to the cops that Write the Most tickets & Arrest the Most people, hiring ex-Military Psychopaths who treat citizens, like they treated war-zone civilians; as the ENEMY. 75% of the problem would be Solved almost immediately! EVERYONE wants to jump on the "More Training Bandwagon" Training is the least of the problems, it's ACCOUNTABILITY. The police know, right, wrong or Indifferent the Union is going to back them up, Qualified Immunity is going to keep them safe and City Council members don't see anything wrong with what they did. If the officers had to come out of their pockets to pay for the lawsuit and understand that they would have to do some REAL TIME for their actions, you MIGHT see a change. Then again, the core or root cause is systemic hatred not lack of training.
@russellstephan6844
@russellstephan6844 Жыл бұрын
Yep... If the individual officer had to carry malpractice insurance, you can bet the insurance companies would keep track of them, their training, and yearly personnel reviews. Bad officers couldn't afford the premiums and/or fail to qualify for coverage. It's obvious individual police departments are incapable of keeping their own rabid dogs on a tight leash.

This is mere “damage control”. The Chief knew of what was taking place in that off-site facility. Every person that is command-staff “and” in every aspect of a supervisory position, was aware of what takes place there. “People” talk. And the way that police have immunity, you know that working there gave the arrogant officers a strong sense of bragging rights. I’m curious to know if there were surveillance cameras in there. I know that’s a stupid question. Of course not. Otherwise, there would be incriminating evidence against the department and it would’ve defeated the purpose of the building’s existence. Just as the CIA and DOD has Guantanamo Bay. Purposely to circumvent any perceived civil/human rights, including the Geneva Convention, when it comes to interrogations tactics and treatment of those deemed as enemies of the state.

The audits have shown that 98% of le are casually and consistently violating rights and corruption is the norm. Some more than others. Long Island Audit is currently being pursued by mob cops in Nassau Co NY!

We need a nation-wide class action to make all settlements come out of that department's budget and cumulative pensions.

Now this is the kind of reporting people respect and expect from news media. Keep digging and reporting because evil doesn't stop with just this story. All of these cops involved in this crime should be sentenced to ten years in prison, have their police certification permanently revoked. Also, they should have qualified immunity removed to allow the wrongfully violated to sue for monetary damages. All awards must come from the police pension fund.

Immediate reforms needed nationwide: 1. Demilitarization of all police forces. You are peace officers, not stormtroopers. 2. End Qualified Immunity. Start attaching settlements to paychecks and pensions. 3. Civil review boards with enforcement and criminal referral authority.

Someone approved that facility. Someone said we need this to do that. Do lowly ranked Officers just get to assign taxpayers money on whatever they want to terrorise the community?
