The idea of a big gun strapped to some kind of a moving platform is almost as old as the idea of artillery itself. In the beginning, guns were moved by horses, and eventually by powerful engines: numerous countries involved in World War 2 relied on special gun tractors to do the job. After sustaining heavy losses, though, the Wehrmacht was forced to rethink their approach to artillery.

1:48 Oddly enough, this is an incorrect fact. The winning model (Waffenträger Ardelt) managed to reach production, but only 10 were built before the end of the war. Nine were lost, and the lone survivor can be found at the Kubinka Tank Museum in Russia. The Waffenträger Ardelt used the chassis of the Pz.38 but otherwise met the same specifications as the other designs. Next: Gaijin tries to explain why it uses the Ostwind 2 instead of the Zerstorer 1945, and the very rare 15 cm sIG 33 B Sfl instead of the more ubiquitous sIG 33 auf Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) AKA the Grille.

@4T3hM4kr0n Yes. Plus, there were two models. The Ausf. H had the engine at the rear and the gun in front. The Ausf. K had the engine in front, and the gun and crew compartment were mounted to the rear. Armor was 50 mm in front, and 10 to 25 mm everywhere else. Both were armed with MG 34s, could carry 15 rounds of 15 cm, and had a top speed of 35 kmh (22 mph). There's also the Grille 17/21, a giant SPG built on an extended Tiger II chassis meant to carry a 170 mm (17 cm Kanone K72 sf L/50) gun. But that never went beyond the prototype stage. And we don't want to give Gaijin any ideas.

The Krupp-Steyr design did actually make it into production as well, though only 3 vehicles were built. 4 if you count the prototype. At least one saw combat, where it knocked out a single T-34 before being destroyed. Pieces of the wreck of that vehicle still exist in a private collection in Germany.

I do have the Waffenträger the only problem is it is quite slow and very lighty armored, but the firepower is golden.

@@phantomsvk5128 From what? CAS?! Or shall I hide when everyone is needed the recap the cap points? The sit and tickle my balls until someone come across me tactic doesn't always work sadly. Yes I usually do snipe from distance but usually I'm eaten by the CAS or an American superheavy eats my shell and fires back and I have to tell you that, in stock or almost stock this isn't quite fast forward but in reverse it is just pain...

@@cyberarchitect9280 Seeing a Waffle is just so tempting man. I know I should be taking down enemy CAS but letting me use a fighter and resist the urge to strafe you is really difficult. It's like leaving a child with a bowl of marshmallow and trusting that kid to not eat a piece

Super informativer Beitrag, auch sehr viele Fakten über den zweiten Weltkrieg hinaus bis heute. Das einzige was ein bisschen gestört hat, war das der Sprecher beim Waffenträger zweimal "falette" statt "Lafette" gesagt hat, ansonsten top!

Qs for the shooting range hotline: Can you add the Iranian Safir-74 tank or the Consolidated B-32 Devastator (the B-32 is pretty much a liberator) or the Northrop XB-35/YB-49 or the North American B-45 Tornado or the Convair B-36 or even another turboprop aircraft the Tupolev Tu-95 "Bear"? And you could technically add the An-12 because it has that rear turret How do you choose which vehicles to add to nations?

Für die CH-53G ihr Helden nicht Sea Stallion. Die Bw benutzt den Mittleren Transport Hubschrauber CH-53G / GE / GS und GA. Sea Stallion und Super Stallion wurden nur die Amerikanischen Version genannt.

@@khaledhassan639 There is a Toyota. It sits at Rank VII of the Japanese TT (Since the firm is japanese) at BR 9.3 and goes by the name of Type 93 Kin-SAM, which is basically a militarized Toyota Mega Cruiser with SAM Launcher at the back of it and is used by the JGSDF.

@@khaledhassan639 Maybe for April fools or some sort of fun event, i don't really see them being added since they aren't classified as Armored Fighting Vehicles (Yes, i know the Type 93 isn't really an Armored Fighting Vehicle but it is weirdly classified as one, probably because it wasn't made from a civilian vehicle by 3 mechanics in garrage and instead was made by order for the JSDF, idk) but as Improvised Fighting Vehicles.
