I just don’t understand why we continue to stand for this. Especially all America has done to get here, we all should be eating!! There is no reason why average every day people are STARVING, can’t pay their rent, can’t fix their car etc. this conversation just boils my blood.

The reason is corporate greed run amok. As to why it is tolerated- I don’t know. Perhaps a certain amount of laziness. And not everyone is cut out for self employment. Thank you for watching!

It was great listening to this. Here are my thoughts should you care to read it. I think we can say for a fact that employee loyalty is at an all time low. At the same time profits like you mentioned are way up. more money would increase loyalty but I guess loyalty is not needed to make a profit at all. Also paying employees does not tend to make them more productive if they would do it because it would be worth the money. I think overall the value of labor has just gotten down. The wages before I was born were way higher but it was mostly hard work which also required skill. Those jobs today still make a decent chunk of money. But most of all a person just produces a lot less than we used to as a species earlier. China is still dirt cheap with their labor which means the west can't go overboard with wagespiking. Also I feel like people, not companies but just your average joe, want to spend as little on a product or service as possible. So who are we to blame companies for doing the same. Walmart is cheap and a lot of people go there. People hire immigrants who have no insurance because they are cheaper. We know Amazon heavily abuses their blue collar workers but people order there very often. In general average people aren’t better than mega corporations, they are just less equipped. People should be able to just live and not have to work themselves to the bone. I agree we are just running on the last stages of capitalism. Eventually growth will stop and we cant grow forever.

You make a lot of valid points. The pay increases may not change things for everyone (productivity-wise), but I believe it would certainly improve morale. People are still people. When the factory jobs where exported in the 80’s and 90’s, many of those employees were earning $30-$40/ hr, and complaining how they may not make their mortgage without the factory. Additionally, employees get spoiled quite easily, and for some, enough is never enough. By and large, however, that rule has slanted towards the companies. I thank you for your comment. And thank you for watching!

The only answer I can see is to work for yourself. That’s something I wish I had done by age 25. Thank you for watching and commenting!
