Hi there, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear you're encountering spitting with your FLEXiO 590, and happy to help you troubleshoot. Below are some solutions for you: -Make sure all parts are aligned and the connection nuts are tight on the sprayer. Before you unscrew any of the parts on the front end, you must unplug the sprayer and relieve the pressure by slowly unscrewing the paint container. Watch this helpful video: kzbin.infoq1qkoZHwUiY -We recommend keeping the power at max and lowering the paint flow to eliminate spitting. You can practice spraying on a piece of cardboard until you find a satisfactory spray pattern. -Adjust the air power based on the thickness of the coating. The thicker the coating, the higher the air power should be. -Set the material flow at the lowest setting that still provides a good pattern. This will help reduce overspray and save material. If the pattern is not satisfactory, adjust the material flow setting until it improves. -Your nozzle could be experiencing clogging. Turn the sprayer on and you can use a wet cloth to wipe off the nozzle, which will help prevent clogging and potential spitting. Should you clean the sprayer between coats or wait until finish?

Great question, Ricky! You don't need to clean the sprayer between coats (as long as it's only a couple of hours). To prevent the paint from drying in the nozzle during this time, we recommend wrapping a damp cloth or plastic bag around the nozzle to lock in the moisture.

I am really struggling using my flexio 5000.. this is the second time I've used it for a project and all I get is splatter.. I have not once got a smooth spray coming out of the nozzles either one I have eight interior doors that are new and in raw form and never been painted.. I've already primered one and it's sitting out drying right now.. but very splotchy appearance.. I don't want to risk using the sprayer on all the other doors if I'm just going to get this effect.. perhaps I shall call into customer service and see if I can get some further help

Hi Stacey, we're so sorry to hear you're encountering issues with the spray texture. For these doors, which nozzle are you using? For larger, flat surfaces, the iSpray Nozzle is typically your best bet-it covers big areas efficiently. If you’re working on more intricate, fine finish details, the Detail Finish Nozzle would be ideal. Here are a few tips to help improve your results: -Keep the sprayer about 6-8 inches away from the surface. -If possible, lay the project down and spray from above. This allows gravity to help level the coating. -Adjust the air power based on the thickness of your coating. Thicker coatings generally require higher air power. -It's also possible your paint may require some thinning. Use water for water-based materials and mineral spirits for oil-based materials; as little as 5% thinning can make a big difference. -Set the material flow to the lowest setting that still provides a good spray pattern. This helps minimize overspray and conserve material. If the pattern isn’t right, tweak the material flow setting until it’s satisfactory. We're always improving and innovating our products. There's still an internal suction tube in the FLEXiO sprayer to pull up the paint, it's only the air hose that's outside of the sprayer to provide clean air flow.

I have a question when u buy the paints from the paint store and u get the paint and its tick paint does the paint still go on like this in the video or have u to water the paint down so it comes out Easily

The FLEXiO sprayers can spray unthinned paints with the iSpray nozzle, but if you're using the Detail Finish nozzle then we recommend thinning/watering down the paint by about 5-10% to run smoothly and get a nice, smooth finish.

I just can not get it to work with good finish for smooth interior wall. It looks like it spurts. I have thinned the paint with water as well. Also when i stop the sprayer drizzles a lot if paint from the sprout. What am I doing wrong?

I recently used the Flexio 3000 painting my living room. I used a latex based paint and thinned it slightly with water. The sprayer worked great, however I had a cloud of "paint mist" throughout the entire room, which got on everything that wasn't covered. I used the recommended settings but still had the paint mist in the room. Is this normal? I didn't realize I had to cover EVERYTHING in the entire room to use the sprayer. I was under the impression that you only had to cover the areas you were working on.

Hello, Billy! The sprayers will always produce some overspray so it's best to cover anything you won't want painted, especially if you're working in an enclosed space with no air flow. You can also reduce overspray by turning down the air flow and material flow settings.

Notes to self: Too little air and too much paint = lumpy texture. Smooth finish = Turn UP air flow and turn DOWN paint flow.

@Wagner Spraytech I bought one the other day to spray an addition, which was sided with D-Log siding. I did use a spray shield and backed brushed it. It came out great, and it did save me a lot of time compared to how I use to do it. Looking forward the next time I have to use it.

Most demonstrations here are done bright white on bright white, can't even see how good a job it does. Can't see the blotching or any marks it might leave behind. Lolll

This video is so poorly done. Why ? Because they should use contrasting colors so you can really see how well the paint is applied. Spraying white on an existing white really doesn't help show how good this paint sprayer is. I'm not sold. Fire the director.

Here is the most important setting for this piece of equipment. When you are in the hardware store and you pick up the box and start considering buying this sprayer, SET IT BACK DOWN AND RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AWAY FROM IT!!! What a piece of garbage. You will spend twice as long preparing to paint and then good luck getting the stupid thing to actually work. Save yourself time, money and your sanity. Just get a brush and roller.

Can I use it to airbrush

What type of project are you spraying? An airbrush is different since airbrushes produce an ultra light spray generally on cakes, model cars or miniature work. Our FLEXiO sprayers output more paint and are good for projects like painting furniture, cabinets, trim, walls, decks and more.
