@@tonyjoka2346 You obviously have some misconceptions. English is not your native language probably. A mercenary is someone who fights because of the money not for the cause. War is simply an opportunity to make money so they are basically employees who may fight for different employers depending on the pay. They are hired. They don't join or enlist. Even regular soldiers who enlist in a military are paid but you don't call them mercenaries. They don't switch employers even if another military pays more. A volunteer who fights because he believes in the cause is not a mercenary either because the money is not the focus. The cause is what they are fighting for. How can you tell? They usually gave up a regular civilian or military job they leave behind in order to fight. And usually mercenaries get paid A LOT OF MONEY compared to regular soldiers. Because it is just another job that is dangerous but pays well to compensate for the risk. Volunteers may or may not be paid some money as an allowance but often they are actually out of money because they have to make their own way to join.

What kind of nonsense is this presenter talking about? Chechnya is a republic of Russia and the Chechen military is also part of the Russian army, but on a volunteer basis. Previously, Chechens could not join the army, but in 2014 the restrictions were lifted. Now there are Chechens in the Russian army , but there is also a separate special forces and the Russian Guard based in the Republic of Chechnya itself.

Once invasion has taken place a consensus for economic sanctions could be done in grand scale( being done right now) globally. It's safer to beat Russia in economy than War. Mercenaries has a limitation. People for hire do expect to survive and use their money to live for. They know there are a risk but if the risk increases they demad more money. So ultimately they will be to expensive. Low risk countries as CAR, Libya and Syria can do but Donbas with an increasingly effective Ukranian army is different. A single tactical nuke warhead or FOAB over Kyiv would turn the tide of this special ops of Russia to its favor but Putin prefers conventional rather than WMD war since Ukriane is more important to Russian Strategical moves agianst the West and it was formar Soviet member too so he might have some soft corner for its existence. If it were a European Union member or some other country then by now definitely he would have engaged either of the war heads for sure and gained victory in a swift and decisive manner. Don't under estimate Russian might by this conflict remember even US, NATO and EU have distanced themselves from direct conflict with Russian Federation and engaged in proxy war by supplies to Ukraine. Imagine if it was not Russia, would US stay away from the war upon a state of its interest?

American war around the world had millions of civilian casualties to date compare to this. @@ashleylittle8403 Russian nukes are far better to work than US. US has around 800 tactical nukes but Russia has 2000 in its arsenal. Why can't Russia use one from it as US used it on Japan. To my knowledge Russians have more value for human lives than US thats what stops Mr.Putin from using it though they suffer casualties.

The FIRST nuke that Putin uses will be his LAST, since he wants to go down in Russian History as the "Savior of Russia" it's very doubtful he will ever use any nuclear weapon, even a smaller tactical weapon! Remember, other than it's old nuclear assets, Russia is really POOR and WEAK, with an Armed Forces armed in the most part with old obsolete technology, in addition, the GNP of Russia is LESS than that of the State of California!
