I have used both and they are great. Wahl has a stronger motor but the foils are always breaking fast. use light pressure and they still break fast. The Andis lasted longer.

Hey brother! Love the video. I just purchased an Andis profoil shaver. I was wondering if it was enough to use Cool Care on the head to lubricate and clean it along with using compressed air to remove excess hair. I'm not sure if I have to actually add oil to the shaver. What's your take?

I think it will be fine. If it was me , I would use Norelco shave ease. It is made for your face and smells nice. BTW never blow air at the foil while it is running bc you'll tear it. Hope I helped. have a good day.

I have both. Purchased the Wahl first. 2 foils broke in first month. I'm at 8 months on my Andis and I have yet to replace a the foil or blades. This is personal use and not shop use. I think the issues with the Wahl is the how much area is exposed on each foil. The Wahl is more powerful though, but the Andis would be my go to just because it has nearly no upkeep. I use Andis cool care, Andis oil and clean the unit after every few shaves.

Some work better for every person but your Wahl could be defective bc the spring could be to tight and pushing to hard on the foil and ripping them. Most professional barber love the Wahl better. You should send it back to Wahl, they have a 5 year warrenty. Thank you for watching

Hey. Just picked up the Whal 5 star shaver... do they usually come to consumers precharged? Also, after the initial 9.5 hours recommended, how long do you recommend I charge after each 20-30min use??

I would read the instruction. they have a charge on them but I recommend charging before using them for longest battery life. you should charge full every time and run them almost dead before charging them. if they go dead you can use the cord and use it still. hope I helped and thanks for watching.

Hi Nick. I used some WD40 on my shaver, but probably it was a mistake. Now the beard sticks on the blades and is very difficult to clean. How should I properly lubricate the blades? Can I use some Philips jet clean solution that I have?

FireSwordl hello. WD-40 isn't oil it is a degreaser. I recommend using Norelco shave ease or Wahl h-42. Phylips cleaner isn't oil, and you need oil if they are clean. Thanks for watching.

For head shaving, which one is better? I don't like razors so I'm looking at foil machines to replace what I currently use to shave my head (a portable Remington R91 rotary - which does the job and gives me a close shave but I'm looking for something faster). Cheers.

These are rotary but not the fastest. These are great shavers for professional barbers bc they can be repairs and parts are not very much. If your looking for faster shaver, try a Braun Pulsonic. Thanks for watching.

And blessed be, besides having knowledge & experience, you seem organized when talking. You could've had my attention for the full 13' --- if I could hear all your words. you should never oil inside if you never worked on it. That job is for a technician. Buy norelco shave ease to oil the cutter and foil only.

Aaron Branson hello. If you use everyday then you might need foil and cutters. There is no adjustments to make to the shaver itself. You only need to send in for repair if something is broken or wore out. If a new foil and cutter doesn't help then you should send back for warranty. If you use oil then the shaver is probably not damaged. Hope I helped and thanks for watching.

Many thanks for your swift repsonse! I have always been a Whal fan. I think I the Wahl is the winner here because of the fact that if you drop it, break it, then there are spare parts...according to your answer. 10.000 rpm seems fast. Vibration is not an issue for me. The Wahl is heavier, but the battery is not as good as the Andis. Nevertheless, the Wahl has the edge from what I gather in your video. Cheers.

np. well if the andis breaks within the year warranty they will replace it but Wahl's warranty is 5 years. also check out the Wahl Finale. its the new one with a lithium battery and less vibration. All parts available. I do a review and break down of the Wahl Finale. I'll shoot you a link.

I like both of these. Everyone has a different experience depending on what you are using it for. The shape of your face makes a difference. The wahl is cheaper. It's up to you. I recommend either one.

While I totally respect your review let's dig a little deeper to discuss if either of these two options are viable choices. Like myself, the reason why many new barbers and stylists opt to buy either one is because for the most part we are following what we see others do! These two companies may make great clippers but they are not shaver manufacturers. If you want a GREAT product that will deliver the results you need go to a company that focuses on that targeted result. After buying the Wahl shaver and going through 3 ripped foils, I was determined to make another purchased but for a more stable shaver. I noticed the guy I shadow (at his shop) using something I'd never seen but I ignored it and began to ask the other barbers who were using the Andis shaver. They gave nice reviews but I still felt they were really saying "it's better than the Wahl shaver" vs let me tell you why this is a superior made shaver. So I turned to see my mentor using his shaver and noticed the power and precision it displayed while in use. It ran very quiet both on dry and damp hair too. I discovered he was using the Braun Series 3-340s Wet/Dry Shaver . Braun is an experienced shaving manufacturer that is know for delivering professional grade products. Now please note: They now have the Series 9 shaving line but I don't need that. The Series 3 out performs the Wahl or Andis already plus I can save money by purchasing this older model. I bought mine on eBay for $25 including shipping. I now have two (one for personal use). Now you will never have to deal with over paying for inferior results... Go ahead search ebay and see yourself.... We have to sometimes think outside the box to get the best results

So I went and got that Braun shaver. After using it for a few weeks, I ended up selling it to my friend and went back to my wahls. It's a good shaver, but it's not powerful enough to efficiently bald a head in my opinion. So then I tried my friends andis shavers, and I like those better than both.

Hello. If it's the nickel metal hydrite one and you replace it with the lithium then you will need to replace the charger also and then it wouldn't be worth it but if you want to replace it with the same kind of battery you can use an aftermarket battery if the numbers match up

@@robertbrown3624 one charges nickel metal hydrate and one charges lithium batteries. They are a different metal that charges. So you won't have to replace the charger with the battery and maybe even the PC board in the shaver depending on how it's built

I don`t see the sense of making two smaller foils instead of one larger. Majority of manufacturers are making two foil shavers, only Braun is still producing single foil one. I have bad experience with two foil systems, you have to clean them everytime after use and foil breaks much easier. Braun single foil last for four years of everyday use.

Want the best? Braun 790cc Shaver but its pricey. The shaver your talking about is weak and made in china no part besides foils. Braun Series 3-340s Wet/Dry Shaver nimh battery. The rpm 5000 which is weak. Its more expensive and heavier. Foil and cutter for braun are 30$ the wahl shaver is 10$. Do me a favor and educate your self.
