Found a pair of clippers (Wahl, but not this model) in my closet from an old roommate that left them. The blades would not move when screwed together, was just about to toss them until I googled it and found this. Now they're at 100% perfect with the simple turn of a cheap plastic screw!

Wow. I didn't like my WAHL clipper, but I just used a screwdriver to adjust the power, align the blades and stiffen the lever and now it's quiet and better than ever. Just wow. You should really include a slip of paper with *ADJUST YOUR CLIPPER BEFORE FIRST USE* and instructions in each box.

Followed these instructions and I broke the casing of the clippers (turned power screw clockwise waiting for the loud noise as described in the video). Thanks, destroyed a perfectly good set of clippers (only reason the screw was off was I was cleaning the clippers)

I took seven screws out of my model to completely disassemble. There was a ton of hair in every crevice. After cleaning, reassembling and yes, adjusting that screw, it works great again.

Nice video sir! I have a wahl balding clipper and i think that the white vibrator arm has bend. I can not align the 2 blades with each other. It tends to incline from the right side of the smaller blade ( from the left as you look the clipper from the front. ) Any thoughts about it?

Hi. i live in Athens, Greece. I recently bought a chrome pro deluxe. I used it just today and now that i saw your video, i adjusted the screw as you said and aligned the blades as the manual says but i would like to ask you something and if you please to answer me. Most of the times, not all the times, when i turn it on, it does a noise, a clunk and i think is the upper blades that somehow hit the down blades. Ofcourse is only when i push the button to start and then stops. Is this natural? or it may be dangerous? Thank you in advance. (is my first time that i use something like this)

From Wahl website: When I switch on my mains clipper it makes a loud thud, is this normal? This is quite normal. The motor is electromagnetic and depending on how it catches the flow of electricity, can make a loud noise (similar to a hand clap) when first switched on, but this does not mean the clipper is faulty or unsafe to use.

It sounds like perhaps your blade is crooked? Or the teeth are dull. My first suggestion would be to apply oil and see if that fixes the issue. If not, try adjusting the blade. If you still have issues, give us a call at 1-800-767-9245 and we can take care of you.

Is it normal that these machines vibrate very uncomfortabily ? I had few cheap machines in my life, and bought a Moser 1400 to make a quality jump but after seeing how much it vibrates I would like to throw it out of the window immediately because 5 min of work and I have hand tired. So frustrating. I have 3 professional old clippers. When i first turn them on they will cut a few big junks out . Then nothing. buzz buzz clatter clatter whatever. But no cut. Hair only 1/4 inch long but all it does is power comb it. Will sometimes cut hair on arm but only power cuts head hair. What is the deal?

The power screw on some wahl's have a tab that won't let you adjust it too much , if you find that you need to go past this point you can pry the plastic bit with the tab off completely and underneath it is a normal philips head screw ....

It's possible they are being over-adjusted. try turning the screw back 1/8" and see if that alleviates the problem.

Hi I have a assume a little problem with my wahl. I bought the black and chrome baldfader machine about 1 2 months ago. And it worked perfect, but this morning after about 10 cuts all in all, it started to do a metalic rattling noise. I saw that the cutting teeth and the big metal plate are not refectly centered to one another. I opened it and I can see that there is a plastic thing that holds the cutting teeth plate in place and it slides on the big plate. But I couldn't solve it and the noise is still there... What do you recommend?

hi, in your video and guide you mention turning it clockwise until it makes a loud noise, and turning it anti-clockwise reduces the noise. my unit does the opposite -- it is INCREDIBLY loud until i turn it clockwise. what gives? also, after i've adjusted my power screw to the acceptable power/noise level, the top blade is so misaligned (it tilts to one side) that i cannot align both blades as described in your guide and video. so either it buzzes incredibly loudly (and making it quieter runs contrary to instructions) or my blades are misaligned. any help?

Alright, I got a replacement (the Lithium Ion Pro) and I have not yet connected it to any power source so it should not be damaged in any way. It is a American set and I still intend on using it in my home country (220v here) for a sustained period of time. Would it be safe to use a step-down converter to charge it?

Mine sounds similar to yours. When I turn up the voltage, my clippers are really quiet but the blades look like they have shifted more to the left side. I notice that my wahl 5 star senior gets extremely hot after 30 minutes. It's insane because I just bought this clipper a few months ago

Hello, I have bought a wahl clipper from USA, using it in Europe, due to difference I use a AC/DC voltage converter 220v to 120v. But there is a frequency difference, It's written on the machine that the frequency is 60hz, but in here it's 50hz. The machine making so much noise and vibration, I've tried that power screw but didn't solve the problem yet. Is there any other way for that problem? Except for another converter for the frequency.

I took the top blade off and now the srews on the top wont catch. This is on my walh seniors with the 3 holes

Is thi normal,that the sound is loud when i plug my super taper 110V same as yours in the video to 125V..sound louder . .how to fix this?

If you plug a 110v into a high voltage outlet you will experience noise issues and perhaps damage the clipper. It is imperative you use the tool in the voltage it was designed to work in.
