This charming little mindfuck of a game has grown on me. Every time I think it can't invent a new mechanic, it keeps upping the ante. I'll say it. I thought people were bering hyperbolic when they said this game could be better than Baba, but it is really making a SERIOUS threat to the Baba series' title as my favorite Tyler series. Last one that did that for me was The Witness, and Patrick has already solidly taken the 2 spot by a MILE from that.

What I like about the game is that none of the mechanics that was taught in worlds before truly become irrelevant. All of them are adequately utilized after they've been introduced.

Sorry no, you're wrong. Sometimes the devs combine concepts like center, transfer, and flip. See what Tyler said at 6:58.
@FelixHelixihare2 жыл бұрын
@@JustAnotherCommenter I believe you just misread what I just wrote. All the other mechanics so far had been used after they've been introduced. The things you've learned in Center, Transfer, and Flip are still useful even after you've finished that world.

My go-to strategy for intuitively understanding mechanics in this game has been thinking about everything as portals. Recursion is a pair of portals that go both ways, Clones are one way portals, Flipping recursion is a pair of portals that have an inverse mapping of x-coordinates, etc...

I like how when the player enters a flipped level, the entire world "flips". In reality, that's just what it would look like from your perspective since the player actually was flipped. So fun fact, if the universe exists on the 3d surface of a 4d mobius strip, and you traverse the entirety of the strip to loop back around where you began, you would be flipped around exactly like this, but you wouldn't have noticed anything changed at all. So what you consider to be right would be everyone else's left, and vice versa. It hurts my brain to think about. Which also means that Patrick when he enters and leaves these flipped box is flipped back and forth as well. His left becomes the right, and his right becomes the left.
